Feed costs drive egg prices up The drought in Western Canada has sent the cost of poultry feed skyrocketing, and now egg prices have joined the spiral. Brian Ellsworth, general mana­ ger of the Ontario Egg Producers' Marketing Board, said in a recent interview that consumers can expect to pay 6 to 8 cents more for a dozen eggs in the next week. “The price of poultry feed has risenby about $50 a tonne since May,” he said, “and for every $5 a tonne increase, prices to producers rise 1 cent.” // Social Sherry Stevens & Brad Black Kurtzville Community Centre Saturday, August 13,9to 1 A ylmer museum salutes Wl work “Women on the Move” aptly describes the exhibit at the Aylmer and District Museum, which will remain until September 16.
