The bride is the daughter of Edna Gibbons of St. Thomas and Fred Gibbons of Windsor. The groom is the son of Albert Earl and Edith Jean Cook of Belgrave. Maid of honour was Mary Slaght of Windsor. Bridesmaids were: Vicki Clarke, St. Thomas; Janet Sterenberg, Belgrave; Bonnie Joyce, London; and Christina Palmer, Ripley. Alycia Cook, Kincardine was flowergirl while Ricky Gibbons of Kincardine was ringbearer. Groomsman was Eric Cook of Belgrave while ushers were Ernie Gibbons, Rodney; Barry McDon­ ald, Blyth; Pat Phelan, Goderich and Allan Scott, Belgrave. The decision followed reading a letter from Denis B. Merrall, Huron County Engineer to the council. At an earlier meeting of Huron County Council Mr. Merrall had suggested it would be good if there was a united stand by Huron municipalities to bring new strength to the negotiations. In other business at the gener­ ally quiet meeting, council gave approval to a motion to give permission to Clerk-treasurer Marion McClure to attend the Municipal Finance Conference in London Sept. 28 and 29. Councillor James Ryan was appointed to interview the appli­ cants for the attendant’s position at the Walton Waste Disposal site shared with Grey township. Road accounts of $44,986.36 and general accounts of $36,971.12 were approved for payment. Blyth Minor Ball Association recently presented prizes to the winners of the June and July draws. Ella Ives [Hght] will be able to get along without cooking on several hot nights this summer as she won dinner for two at each of the Blyth Inn Hotel, Triple K Restaurant, Village Restaurant and Grand View Restaurant.
