Former Bly th principal dies BERT GRAY Bert Gray of Clinton, and formerly of Blyth, died peacefully at his residence on Monday, August 1, 1988 in his 77th year. Mr. Gray was a long-time principal of Blyth Public School before moving to Clinton where he served as principal of Clinton Public School until his retirement. He was born in Hullett township on September 11,1911, the son of the late William Gray and the former Bowling Club. He is survived by two daughters, Sharon and her husband Gordon Johnstone, Scarborough, and Glenda and her husband John Karn, Kitchener. Also surviving are two sisters, Mildred, Mrs. Leonard McNall of Blyth and Haatie, Mrs. Edwin Wood of RR 1, Blyth and his twin brother, Ephriam Gray, of Palmerston. He was predeceased by one brother, Edmund Gray. The late Mr. Gray rested at the Ball and Falconer Funeral Home, Cl’nton where a private funeral service was held Thursday, August 4, 1988 with Rev. David Woodall officiating. Interment was in Blyth Union Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Art and Willard Aiken, Art Colson, Gerry Holmes, Gary Jewitt and Elmer Murray. Flowerbearers were Eric Gray, David Gray, Bob Gibbings and Ken McDougall. He was active in the community and was a past member of the Blyth Masonic and Oddfellows Lodges and a member of the Clinton Lawn Business & Professional Obituaries WESLEY JOHN JEFFERSON Wesley John Jefferson of RR 1, Belgrave, died July 31, 1988 in Wingham District Hospital. He was 53 years of age. The West Wawanosh farmer was bom October 4, 1934, the son ofthe late Charles R. Jefferson and the former Iona McClinchey who alsopredeceasedhim. He was a member of Donnybrook United Church. He married the former Eilleen Josling on December 3, 1958 in Auburn. Besides his wife he is survived by three daughters and three sons: Debbie, Mrs. Dwayne Berkholtz, Edson, Alberta; Brian and Gerald, both of RR 1, Belgrave; Doreen and her special friend Murray Thompson, RR 1, Belgrave; Bill and his fiance Debbie Rimmer of Parkhill; Diane, Mrs. David Thomson, Wingham and by Carrie Page who was the special friend of their son Barry who died in an accident July 11, 1988 in Edson, Alberta. Surviving are one brother and one sister: Elaine, Mrs. Frank Campbell of London and Don and his wife Marie of Clinton. One grandson, Regan Berkholtz of Edson, Alberta, also survives. Thefuneralserviceswas held August 3, 1988 from the MacKen- zie and McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow with Rev. Dan Armstrong of Donnybrook United Church officiating. Interment was in Greenhill Cemetery, Lucknow. Flowerbearers were Sam Thompson, Bill Hardy, Stuart Chamney, Ted Robinson, Doug Mole and Gordon Foran. Serving as pallbearers were Bert Moss, Tom Cronin, Joe Heffron, Ray Hallahan, Norman McClinchey, Bill Robinson and Hugh Jefferson. HAROLD CUNNINGHAM Harold Cunningham of Londes- boropassedawayat his home in Londesboroon July 28, 1988 in his 95th year. Born in Morris Township, he was the son of the late William and Martha Cunningham. He is survived by his wife the former Annie Garnett who he married in 1950. Heisalsosurvived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother VereD. Cunningham, Earl of Colborne Township and sister Theresa Elder of Tilsonburg. Harold was employed by C.P. Rail for many years before taking up farming east of Londesboro in Hullett Township. Funeral and committal services were held Saturday, July 30 at the Tasker Funeral Home with Rev. J. Roberts of Belgrave U nited Church officiating. Pallbearers were six nephews: LaVerne Cunningham of Colborne Township; Bert Cunningham, California; Garth Cunningham, Goderich; Gerald Elder, Sarnia; Con van Vliet, Blyth and Al Carter of Toronto.
