The soap opera will be performed in four episodes over the next month. Prime Minister visits Huron Thursday Country Fair a success Prime Minister Brian Mulroney will officially open the $17 million dollar expansion of the Goderich harbour Thursday morning at 10 a.m. After arriving from Ottawa at Goderich airport, Mr. Mulroney and his family will travel to the harbour to open the recently- completed project. The work done at the harbour includes dredging of the harbour to seaway depth, construction of a 200-metre, con­ crete caisson wharf and a new breakwater. The new facilities are on the north side of the original harbour, north of the salt mines. Following the opening the Prime Minister along with Mila and their children Caroline, Benedict, Mark and Nicolas will attend a family luncheon at Goderich airport be­ ginning at 11:45. The event is hosted by Murray Cardiff MP for Huron-Bruce and his wife Betty. Admission to the event is free and those attending should bring lawn chairs. There will be food available for those who wish it at a cost of $5 for adults and $3 for children. This is not a fundraising event as incorrectly reported in last week’s Citizen. A party official stressed the charge involved only covers the cost of the food. The Prime Minister will fly out of Goderich at 2 p.m. Intermittent rain and cloudy skies weren’t enough to daunt the spirits of the happy throngs enjoying themselves at the 1988 Blyth Festival Country Fair on Saturday, which saw more than $1,400 raised toward the capital fund. Festival board members and company members were out in force to help make the day a success; doing everything from telling fortunes to cooking hot dogs to overseeing the Flea Market, while Friends of the Festival provided home-baked goodies for the food booths, helped keep things on schedule, and even volunteered at the ever-popular dunking tank. Other company members, as well as the members of the Young Company, were featured at the Oops! The Citizen gave some wrong information in the story “Young actors perform Huron soap opera’’ last week. The first episode of the four-part presentation by Blyth Festival’s Young Company will be presented on Friday, July 29; the second episode will be on Saturday, July 30; the third will be on Friday, August 12; and the fourth and final episode, on Saturday August 13. All performances are at 12 noon and at 7 p.m. at the Dinsley Street Garage in Blyth. Admission to each performance of “Dinsley - the soap, not the street’’ is $2 for adults, $1 for teenagers, andfreetokids 12years of age and under. Tickets may be purchased at the door on a first-come-first-served basis. The annual Cake Walk was also popular, with cakes donated by favourite bakeries, restaurants and individuals around the county sold to the highest bidder. “Despite the rain, it was a very successful Fair,” Mrs. Salsbury said. Engagement Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Rumford are pleased to announce the forthcoming marriage of their chosen daughter, Frances Alice to James Edmund Saldivar, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Saldivar.
