The beautiful flower arrangements at the front entrance and inside the church were from the wedding Saturday evening of Darryl Hoegy and Ruthann McIntosh. The church will be closed during the month of August. At present there are repairs being done to the roof and steeple along with the chimney. Walton people visit Isabelle Shortreed accompanied Margaret Shortreed to Port Stan­ ley on Sunday where they spent the day with Elva Shortreed at her cottage. Andy Smith, Sprinfield, Illinois visited with her cousin Chris Stevenson on the weekend. Joanne Clarke, Wendy and Rodney called on Isabelle Short­ reed one day recently. RuthThamer spent the weekend with Ruthie Tahmer, Kitchener, at their trailer at Klondike Park, Grand Bend. Kim and John Thamer, London visited with his mother Sunday evening. Kendra Shortreed spent a night last week with her friend Marci McCall following a ball game at Winthrop park. Rev. Steven Webb of Monkton officiated the ceremony. The bride is the daugh­ ter of Mr. and Mrs. John Engel, Cranbrook and the groom is the son of Mrs. Iona McLean and the late Donald McLean. The bride wore a white satin gown with a tapered bodice and sleeves covered with pearls down the front, and a flowing train. She wore a beaded headband with a long white veil. She carried a bouquet of mauve and white flowers. Sandy Huether of Brussels, friend of the bride, was matron of honour. Bridesmaids were Judy Engel, sister of the bride, Ottawa and Godene Marquardt, cousin of the bride, Moorefield. They wore mauvecocktail-length dresses, grey shoes and beaded head bands. Melissa Engel, Cranbrook, was the flowergirl. She is a niece of the bride and wore a mauve dress, grey shoes and a beaded headband. The groom wore a black tuxedo with tails. Keith White of Brussels, friend of the groom was the best man. Ushers were Glenn McLean, Clin­ ton, brother of the groom and Tim Prior, Brussels, friend of the groom. The ushers wore grey tuxedoes, white shirts and mauve cumberbunds. Shawn Engel, Cranbrook, ne­ phew of the bride, was ringbearer. He wore a grey tuxedo, white shirt and mauve cumberbund. The organist was Michelle Blake ac­ companied by Julie McCall the soloist. After the ceremony guests were served cocktails while the wedding party had photos taken at the Brussels Conservation Area. A dinner was then held at Brussels, Morris and Grey Community Centre followed by an open reception. The couple had a trip to Toronto for a few days and now reside at RR 3, Brussels. 4.49Patties 2 LB.
