The expansion is the latest move in the 52-year growth of the Walton family company. Big changes for family business over 52 years The opening of a major new addition and the addition of the Ford line of farm equipment is just the latest accomplishment in the half-century of operation of the McGavin family business. There are now two McGavin Companies in Walton, headed by the third and fourth generations of the McGavin family to operate the business. McGavin Farm Equipment Ltd., headed by Neil, will continue to sell and service most of the wide variety of equipment lines that have built the wide clientele for McGavins over the years. McGavin Farm Supply Ltd., headed by Neil’s son Brian, has the new Ford New Holland franchise. The expansion necessitated the construc­ tion of the new building and the opening of a new display yard for equipment north of the original site. The new building, begun last fall, has a50footby 100 foot main floor with a mezanine giving it more than 6000 square feet of space. The McGavin family plans a big celebra­ tion for the official opening of the new building Monday, July 18at2 p.m., but celebrations will begin first thing Monday morning. There will be door prizes and balloons for the children and special discounts for customers. The celebration will continue all week. Celebrations are nothing new for the family.
