Phone 526-7589 Knox Church honours Sunday School students The sanctuary was beautifully decorated with flowers for Father’s Day. Rev. Dave Snihur conducted theserviceandLori Millian was organist. Call to Worship was read alternately. The hymn, ‘ ‘The Solid Rock” was sung. Prayer of Ap- proachwasreadfollowedby the Lord’s Prayer. The announce­ ments were given. The junior choir sang, “Follow­ ing God’s Way” under the direc­ tion of Mrs. Allan Webster and Mrs. Gordon Gross as pianist. Presentation of awards were given outfor the Sunday School children. The children’s song was the “Butterfly Song” followed by the storybyRev. Snihur of “Stones from the Beach”. Maurice Bean presented Miss Lori Millian with a gift for her work in being organist and choir leader. Junior and Senior choirs sang “We Turn To Jesus”. Rev. Snihur’s sermon was entitled “Learning About God Through Nature’ ’. Offering was received by Lawrence Plaetzer and Peter Ver- beek and dedicated followed by Offeratory Response, “Praise God from whom all blessings flow”. The service closed with the Benediction Response, “Now Thank We All Our God”. Next Sunday, June 26 will be early hymn sing. Sunday School students receiv­ ing attendance awards were: First year diploma: Danny Chamney, Amy MacDonald, Jus­ tin Chamney, Leanne Vincent, Chris Millian. Second year seals - Robbie Young, Josh Middelkamp. Third year seals - Joel Arthur, Kevin Millian, David Haggitt, Graham Worsell, Cheri Kryzan- owski. People around Auburn Mr. and Mrs. Bud Chamney and Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Chamney visited recently with Mr. and Mrs. Herman Chamney of Windsor. A shower will beheld for the recent bride, the former Yvonne Bean on June 27 in the Knox U nited Church basement. There will be moneyboxes at Seers, Schneiders, and Jo-Jo’s. The happy couple is planning on moving West. Please bring a bit of lunch. There will be no service in the Knox United Church on July 10,17, 24, or 31, but will begin again on August 7 at 10 a.m. Mr. Ernest Durnin is a patient in Alexandra General and Marine Hospital, Goderich. He is wished a speedy recovery. Mrs. Bonnie Armour visited on the weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Tom Jardin. Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Rodger attended the christening of their Fourth year seals - Melissa Hanna, Amanda Hanna, Courtney Rutledge, Pamela Schneider, David Campbell. Ninth year seal - Ruthanne Bakker, Kerry Bakker, Tyler Craig, Karen Millian, Michael Schneider. Tenth year seal - Chris Marchl, Janice Webster, Susan Dobie, Alison Chamney. Eleventh year seal - Stuart Bakker, Rose Marie Young. Twelfth year seal - Ian Andrews. Auburn WMS holds meeting The Presbyterian Women’s Missionary Society held the June meeting at the home of Mrs. Carol Daer. The president Martha Daer presided and opened the meeting with a poem. She welcomed all the members and one visitor to the meeting. The Devotional period was in charge of Erma Cartwright who read the scripture portion and gave the meditation and closed with prayer. Viola Raithby had charge of the study period. The July meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Dawson Craig July 13 at 1:30 p.m. The Presbyterial fvisitor Mrs. Floyd Willows of Stratford will be the guest speaker. great-granddaughter Jessica Patricia, on Sunday at Knox Presbyterian Church, Goderich. She is the daughter of Randy and Patty Maize of Dungannon. They also spent the afternoon with them. Betty Jo Popp honoured with shower A bridal shower for the bride to be Betty Jo Popp was held on Saturday, June 11 at the Popp homeof her mother Evelyn, and put on by her sisters Debbie Roy and Dianne Popp. The bride was escorted to a decorated chair. Games were enjoyed and two poems read to Betty Jo about her life with her future husband Brian Holme in London. Many beautiful gifts were opened and a delicious lunch was served.
