The final reading and passing of a by-law authorizing the Boyd Municipal Drain was carried out. Council learned that the construc­ tion of the Reid, Buchanan, Smillie, Winthrop-South and Mc­ Callum-Winthrop drains will be delayed until the Ontario Drainage Tribunal holds a hearing for the appeal received from Harold and Naomi Pryce. A bylaw authorizing issuing of debentures for the purpose of drains in the amount of $30,400 was approved. A letter from Brad Knight, clerk-treasurer of Grey township about the township’s recycling program as well as reports on the determination of Contaminant At­ tenuation Zone and Assessment of the Remaining Site Operating Life for the Grey site were distributed to council. Council agreed to pay the wages and mileage for three weeks for student Ken Van Osch to do planning work in the township. Road accounts of $142,317.17 and general accounts of $304,431.95 were approved for payment.
