Marion Cook of Blyth last week when a new member of the family was
surrounded by relatives. Joshua William Albrechtas, son of Don and
Kim Albrechtas of Blyth is held by his great-great-grandmother
Mildred Garrett of Blyth while mother Kim looks on. Standing at the
rear are grandmother Eleanor Babcock of Clinton and great-grand
mother Marion Cook.

balloon in his pasture field. The
name of Tami Bieri in grade 4 at
Bay Port Elementary School, 9853
Poplar St., Bay Port Michigan was
attached.
Canvassers for the Canadian
Cancer Society report the drive in
Blyth resulted in more than $1,700
in donations.
A bridal shower for bride elect
Betty Jo Popp was held on
Saturday, June 11 with 29 relatives
presentatthe bride’s mother’s
home in Blyth. The shower was put
on by her two sisters Debbie Roy
and Dianne Popp. The bride to be
was escorted to a decorated chair,
games were enjoyed and two
poems were read to Betty about her
life with future husband Brian
Holme of London. Many beautiful
gifts were opened and a delicious
lunch was served.
Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Nelson of
Maidstone, Sask, visited recently
for a week with Mrs. Nelson’s
cousins, Helen and Norman Gow-
ing, Myrtle Vodden and Jean
Cook.
Mrs. MaymeCrawfordhad as
her guest for a few days, her
sister-in-law, Mrs. Edna Stemmier
of Manitoba.
Wednesday night’s preview
performance of Cookie War at the
Blyth Festival will be a special
Tourism Night with those involved
in tourism from across the county
taking part.

were also unable to find anyone
listed in the phone directory by the
name printed on the letter. If the
writer would like to come to the
office, identify himself and sign the
letter, we would be happy to

Scrimgeour’s was $110.80. The
Zehrs contribution is yet to come.
The grocery tapes are still being
collected at the Blyth Library.
Beavers held their annual picnic
on May 17. After an excursion to
Jackson’s Farm the boys were
treated to a Block Parent play
composed bylocalgrade4girls.
Elegant leather wallets were pre
sented to each Beaver, compli
ments of Brad Montgomery and
family. Popsicles and grab bags
finished off the evening.
Beavers attended the District
Day Camp at Benmiller’s Falls
Reserve Conservation Area on
May 28. A total of 220 Beavers and
leaders attended plus 100 helpers.
Blyth was well represented with 17
Beavers and eight helpers. Blyth
was in charge of making dinosaur
cards to attach to balloons for a

Examinations for piano, violin
and guitar will be conducted June
21, 22, and 23 in Blyth United
Church, Margaret Kai, co-ordina-
tor for the examinations reported
Monday.
Earl Mlotek will be the examiner
for the Royal Conservatory of
