A pancake breakfast was enjoy ed by the Sunday School children served by the teen club and the staff. Instead of the usual 11 a.m. service, there was a presentation of “Jonah” by the junior and inter mediate choirs under the direction of Margaret Kai. The scenery was artistically done by Don Kai. John Ramirez was the capable narrator with Ian Caldwell as Jonah, Brad Walsh the ship’s captain, Paul Hessels as the King and Chris Howson as his aid. The story was told in song by the 16 members of the junior choir and 18 of the intermediate choir. Laurie Wharton, Crystal Cuck- sy, Karen Lee, Nikki Snell and Tammi Medd also contributed with a song. The Sunday School attendance awards were presented by Susan Howson and Bev Blair. The flowers in the church were placed by Myrtle Vodden’s family to honour her 75th birthday. The greeters were Cathy Me- Nichol and Debbie Root. Ushers were Gary and Joan Caldwell and Pat and Harvey Bernard. UCW Unit hears about theatre The June meeting of the Even ing Unit of the Brussels U.C.W. was held at the cottage of Joan Bernard. The ladies enjoyed a delicious pot luck dinner. Rene Richmond introduced our guest Sheila Richards who spoke of the workings of the Blyth Festival and gave a review of the upcoming plays. Barbara McCutcheon thanked Sheila and presented her with a bouquet of flowers in appreciation. Minister's Study Continued from page 20 than giddy, excitedfeelings. Being in love is not enough. You need to behave in love. Hold your partner in special regard and let your actions reveal it. Your spouse needs to be treated special. That is because they are special. Your partner has been chosen as a lifelong companion. A love which trusts. We demon strate our love for one another by being trustworthy. Trust is a fragile thing. It can be so easily destroyed. Once destroyed, it is often difficult to regain. Trust is a very precious commodity. It needs tobe guarded. It needs to be given. A love which hopes. I believe that it is the offer of forgiveness that gives hope in our world. Because God offers forgiveness, we can experience hope for the future. The precious gift of willing ness toforgive is a valuable asset in any marriage. Actually, it is likely the most critical characteristic to make any relationship work. There is tremendous freedom for growth to know that I can be forgiven and that I can forgive. A love which perseveres. To endure takes commitment. The promise of vows, ‘so long as you both shall live’ is not a life sentence. It is intended to offer security and stability. Tooffer such a promise to each other indicates a desire to seek the bestfor one’s partner in life. Vows to love, cherish, comfort, honour, keep and to forsake all others will allow for the development of a true inti macy. With respect, honesty, forgive ness and commitment, your rela tionship can experience the finest qualities of love. There is nothing love cannotface; there is no limit to itsfaith, itshope, anditsendur- ance. Business & Professional Directory Lyle Youngblut and son Plumbing and Heating BLYTH - 523-9585 Wanted!
