The girls are [from left] Jean Locking [Cranbrook4-H Club], Beverly Hart [Cranbrook], Marilyn Mayberry [Londesboro] and Dianne Black [Belgrave]. Heather MacDonald of the Blyth I Club was absent when the photo was taken at Family Paradise Campground on May 31, but Jean and Marilyn were both also ^recognized as Club Youth Leaders. June Fothergill attended the 21st Westminster Weekend from Friday to Sunday afternoon at Westminster College in London. One hundred and fifty ladies from London conference attended this event. Friends and neighbours of Mr. Ken Hulley will be sorry to hear he is a patient in Clinton Hospital. He is wished a speedy recovery. Weekend visitors with Dora recovery Shobbrookwere Muriel, Dora, and Willie Millson of Woodstock and Sheryl Millson of Scarborough. On Saturday night, Thelma Ellerby of Clinton visited with hermother Dora. Outdoor service, picnic planned for July 3 On Sunday, June 5 the greeter at Londesboro United Church was Clara Riley. Ushers were Pam Hoggart, Kim Salverda, Cheri Hoggart, and Michelle Govenlock. The scripture, Joshua 1: 1-9, was read by Paul Jewitt. The sermon text was the “Power of the Positive”. The Huronview Fellowship time is on Wednesday, June 8 at2:30 p.m. at the Huronview Auditor­ ium. The church board meets on Tuesday, June 7 at 8 p.m. June 19 is Promotion and Awards Sunday Kids learn bus safety All pre-kindergarten children were invited to attend a Bus Safety Program at B.P.S. last Wednes­ day. Constable Marshall of the O.P.P. and Robert Cunningham, Transportation Manager of the Huron County Board talked to the children and showed slides. The children and their parents then boarded a school bus and went for a ride around a country block. Back at the school, Constable Marshall demonstrated the flashing red lights and the proper way to cross infront of the bus. The children who attended were given a colouring/story book that pictured the rules of bus safety. at the church. Sunday, June 26 the Sunday School will host a pancake breakfast before Church. Sunday, July 3 will be an outdoor service and church picnic at 11:15 a.m. at the Hardys. Church vacation time is July 17, 24, and 31. Sandra Mayberry of Londesboro was recently presented with her 5-year certificate in recognition of her work with local 4-H clubs since 1983. The award was made in Clinton on May 24. Muriel Coultes speaks on Ethiopean experience The Burns U.C.W. meeting was held on Wednesday afternoon June 1. Seventeen members and one visitors enjoyed dinner at the Hillcrest Restaurant, Londesboro. Following the dinner members gathered at the church. Ramona Jamieson introduced the guest speaker Muriel Coultes of Bel­ grave. Muriel was sponsored by London Conference of the United Church of Canada. She showed pictures and gave an interesting talk on Ehtiopiaand other coun­ tries she visited. Beryl Reid thanked Muriel and presented her with a gift. Renee Snell conducted the business and gave a reading: “Thought For Today’’. Roll call was answered with a bible verse and minutes of the last meeting were read. The treasurer’s report was given by Margaret Taylor. A thank you card was received from Jean Leiper. Gloria McEwing thanked the U.C.W. for the get-well card and gift. The meeting closed with prayer.
