Feature of the Week ... 101/4% 1 year GIC 1 Brussels Village Council and the Brussels, Morris and Grey Indus trial Committee would like to do something to open up the indus trial park in the north end of the village but only one thing stands in their way: a building. Council learned Monday night that a survey shows a building intrudes about 20 feet into the road allowance on the unopened portion of George Street that leads to the industrial land the village pur chased last year. Council wants to improve the street so that potential industrial land buyers can get into the site but the building will have to be removed first. The building’s owner will be contacted and asked to remove the building. Council discussed what should be done once the building is removed. At first council consider ed digging up the street and putting in new gravel but Reeve Gordon Workman pointed out that if the land was later developed, water and sewer mains would have to be laid and the road would have tobe torn up all over again. Council agreed that perhaps it would be best for the time being to make the roadway presentable by some grading and addition of several loads of pit-run gravel which would make it easy for buyers to see the property. Keith Mulvey and Gerry Wheel er of the BMG Industrial Commit tee later in the evening visited council concerned with the same problem of access to the site. After being informed of council’s solu tion to the problem they also discussed the cost of providing hydro services to factories that might locate in the area and the flexibility council had in the size of parcels that would be sold.
