Mary Lou Stewart conducted the worship on the theme, ‘ ‘Our faith is rooted in Love”. Mary Wightman led in a study on World Outreach. After a discussion on what World Outreach is, Mary discussed four countries where the United Church helps: Chile, India, Kenya and South Korea. The whole study was summed up with these words of Brussels Village Market advertise- mentonpage7. Forwinning the contest she receives a $25 gift certificate from Lawrie Decorating in Blyth. This week the prize will be a $25 gift certificate that can be used in the purchase of lawn furniture scripture, “Goye into all the world and preach the gospel to all people.” Myrtle Vodden, president, pre­ sided for the business period. An invitation has been extended to Blyth U.C.W. to attend the June meeting at Calvin-Brick on Wed­ nesday, June 15 at 8 p.m. The meeting ended with a delicious lunch served by Mary Lou Stewart, Adeline Campbell and Susan Howson. ISABEL JANES Eugene Janes ofBrussels has been installed as the 1988-89 president of the Royal Canadian Legion, Brussels Branch No. 218, while Jayne Ross, also of Brussels, has been installed as the new president of the Ladies’ Auxiliary. The installation of the new executives took place at the Brussels Legion Friday evening, under the direction of installing teams from the Blyth Legion and Ladies’ Auxiliary. Brussels Legion Cadet Chris Bridge and Cadet Corporal Martha Boon made up the color party for the installations, under the direction of Cadet Master Warrant Officer Jeff Boyn­ ton. Other Legion Officers installed Friday were: Bob Harkness, first Vice-president; Deborah Cann, second Vice-president; Kathy Burkholder, Secretary; and Marg Bennett, Treasurer. Laverne Jamieson, Ross Bennett, Murray Lowe and Dave Taylor were installed as members of the Executive Committee; Stuart Par­ ker remains as Sergeant-at-arms and Service Officer; and Rev. Charles Carpentier remains as Chaplain. In the Ladies Auxiliary, Isabel Janes was installed as first Vice- president; Lillian Moses as second Vice-president; Barb Graber as Secretary; and Marg Taylor as Treasurer. Kaye Duncan, Bernice McFarlane, Verna Tunney and Martha Logan make up the Executive Committee; while Ma­ bel Willis is the Sgt.-at-arms; Ann Elliott is the Standard Bearer; Kitty Rutledge heads the Sunshine Committee; and Martha Logan is the Sports Officer. Barb Knight and Mabel Willis will serve as auditors; Jayne Ross, Barb Knight, Marg Taylor and Bonnie Brewer make up the Kitchen Committee; Alice Broth­ ers will serve as Pianist; and Barb Knight will be the Booking Officer.
