Business & Professional Directory Lyle Youngblut and son TIMOTHY DAVID WEBSTER David and Ruth Webster are proud to announce the graduation of their son Timothy from University of Waterloo. Timothy received First Class Honours, Dean’s Honour List Bachelor of Applied Science [Electrical Engineering] Option in Physics. He attended Bly th Public School and F. E. Madill Secondary School and he is now working on his Master’s in Electrical Engineering at University of Waterloo. Sunshine Unit studies soil loss The Sunshine Unit of the Blyth U.C.W. met on May 19 with T1 members and one visitor present. The worship service was conduc ted by Ollie Craig and Dorothy Daer. Ollie read the 23rd Psalm, and an article written by a Basque shepherd which increases one’s comprehension and appreciation ofthe psalm’s metaphorical langu age. Dorothy explained that things going well are taken for granted while adversity is the best teacher. She demonstrated this by telling how, in a Florida training camp in W.W. II, a training officer used a large alligator in a shallow pond to make his men overcome an obstacle in the training exercises. Mary Holland, this year’s third speaker on Creation in Crisis, told about Huron County’s two-year Master Plan on Waste Manage ment which will seek answers to what waste is, where it goes, who looks after it and who should control it. This subject is so vital that Women’slnstitutesare making waste management their 1988 study, Mary said. Regarding soil erosion and depletion, Mary stated several facts. Farmers sometimes get more blame than they deserve for these conditions. Because of a glut of nitrogen on the market, they fall prey to salesmen’s pitches to buy fertilizer high in nitrogen. They forget that some crops require more nitrogen than others. Co-leader Evelyn Smith opened the business by reading a poem which left her listeners wondering who are delinquent - parents or their children. Announcements were: Mary Wightman and Evelyn Smith will conduct worship at the June meeting; and Evalena Webster and Mary Walden will be in charge of kitchen duties and flowers for the month of June. Tuckersmith gets grant New insulation has been install ed in Tuckersmith Township’s Vanastra Curling Club to reduce energy costs. This energy conser vation improvement was due to a grant of $5,417 from the Ontario Ministry of Energy under the Municipal Oil Conversion and Energy Conservation Program (MOCECP). The money was used to replace the electric heating cables below the club’s ice pad with three-inch- thick polystyrene foam insulation. Plumbing and Heating BLYTH - 523-9585 Wanted!
