guest speaker for the day was Rev.
J. Robert Watt of Toronto. He is a
recently retired minister from
Trinity and Humber Valley United
Church in West Toronto. He is also
an author and had copies of his
most recent book, “The Heart
Renewed,’’ which was written
following his quintuple heart,
by-pass surgery. He is well known
in this area as his mother came
from Lucknow and many of his
relatives still live in the White
church and Belgrave areas.
He reminisced for a few minutes
about the boyhood summers spent
in the area.
His sermon entitled “Keeping
our course’ ’ was based on scripture
from Ephesians 4:7-29. Christians
are encouraged to keep their eyes
on the goal despite the many trials
that may cause them to stumble.
Man’s chief end is to glorify God
and enjoy him forever.
Two selections * ‘ Spirit of Gentle
ness’’ and “I Love” were sung by
the choir. The choir is composed of
16 young people from the congre
gation and were accompanied by
Mrs. George McGee on the piano.
