All members of council were present with Reeve Cecil Cranston presid­ ing. Council passed a motion requir­ ing all employees to record work­ ing hours through the use of a punch time clock. Planner Cindy Fisher attended the meeting to discuss the details of a meeting of all township ratepayers. The meeting, to be held in the Dungannon Senior Citizens Hall, will discuss the Secondary Plan for the Township of West Wawanosh. The meeting will be held on May 19 at 8 p.m. Council passed a motion to accept the offer of Pollard Bros. for calcium chloride at $214 per flaked ton. Councilinstructedtheroad superintendent to obtain prices for a new diesel snow plow truck with full snow removal equipment and sander included. A subsidy of $70,000 is available to help cover the cost of the vehicle. Council acknowledged receipt of a letter from the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority concern­ ing a rural water quality study in the Maitland River Watershed. The purpose of the study is to determine the effects that various livestock manure handling and waste management practices have on water quality in the Watershed. The operators of all livestock farms located within 150 meters of an open watercourse will be ap­ proached to participate in a questionnaire. Council opened tenders for a new addition to the Township shed. Tenders ranged from $63,765 to $75,500. Council voted to accept the tender from Tom Pegg Construction for $63,765. Tender for the plumbing was awarded to Dawsons for $3,000. Council passed a motion to appoint Maitland Engineering to conduct a survey for a new municipal drain for the hamlet of Dungannon. Rebekahs elect officers At the regular meeting of Morning Star Rebekah Lodge Noble Grand Leona Connelly presiding. The ceremonial undraping of charter was held. A letter was read from Brussels Public School thank­ ing the Lodge for donation and inviting members to attend an evening of music at the school. A donation is to be sent to Epilepsy and also a subscription to “Tab­ loid”. Final arrangements were made for the Variety Fair. All used clothing not sold is to be picked up by Mission Services, London. An open house at the Lodge Hall is to be held May 29, 2 - 4 p.m. Election of officers for the 1988-89 term was held. A discus­ sion about the lodge’s 55th birth­ day took place. This is to be discussed at next meeting. After closing of lodge, a draw was made for a quilt which was won by Freda Pipe. Winner of the travelling prize was Lois McCall. Card bingo was played and a delicious lunch was served by committees in charge.
