Phone 526-7589 'Breaking ground' topic at Knox Church Knox United Church Service started with a hymn-sing with Lori Millian as pianist. Rev. Dave Snihur conducted the service with Lori Millian as organist. Call To Worship was read alternately followed by hymn, “For the Beauty of the Earth’’. The prayer of approach was by Rev. Snihur. The announcements were given. The children’s song was “From the Rising Sun’’. Children’s story was “The Whole World and the People around Auburn Next Sunday Rev. Gordon Pic- kell of Goderich will be leading the service at Knox United Church. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Haines and family of Beamsville visited with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Don Haines on the weekend. Snihur gave the Prayers of Thanksgiving and Concern. The senior choir sang the anthem, “I will sing of the mercies of the Lord.’’ The minister’s sermon was entitled “Break up the ground and sow the good seed.’’ The offering was received by Larry Plaetzer and Murray Rollinson and dedicated followed by the offeratory re­ sponse, “Praise God from whom all blessings flow”. The hymn, “The Light of World is Jesus”, was sung. The minister pronounced the benediction and the service closed with the Bene- . Rev. Huron roads get extra funding An extra $1.6 million has been allocated by the province to strengthen Huron County’s trans­ portationsystem, Huron MPP Jack Riddell announced this week. Making the announcement on behalf of Transportation Minister Ed Fulton, Mr. Riddell said these supplementary funds will be pro­ vided to various municipalities for local road and bridge projects. Major projects approved include reconstruction of Mill Street in Hensail, the lOthLineBridge in East Wawanosh Township, and the hardtopping of Huron Park Roads in Stephen Township. * ‘These funds represent a signi­ ficant contribution to the transpor­ tation system in the area and are in addition to grants normally given the provincial government to help pay the cost of the local transporta­ tion system,’’ Mr. Riddell said. Theseadditionalfundsare an indication of the government’s commitment to roads and high­ ways as an important tool in the promotion of economic growth as well as vital links for families and emergency services.
