James Perrie, RR 3, Brussels, passed away at Wingham and District Hospital on April 7,1988. He was 84 years of age. He was the son of the late James Perrie and Jessie McNair and was born in Grey township. He married theformer Mildred Pollard who survives him. Also surviving are one son, Rev. James Perrie and his wife Marion, RR3, Fenwick and one daughter-in-law, Brenda Per­ rie, RR 3, Brussels. One brother John A. Perrie, RR 3, Brussels also survives as do grandchildren Verna Marie, Hea­ ther and her husband Bob William­ son, Will, Lori Ann, Paul and Linda. The funeral was held April 11, 1988 from the Brussels Chapel of the M.L. Watts Funeral Homes with Rev. K. Knight and Rev. Stephen Webb officiating. Soloist was Margaret MacLeod. Pallbear­ ers were Donald J. McNair, William M. McNair, Harold S. Parker, John M. Perrie, Marie A. Perrie and Paul W. Perrie. Flower­ bearers were Linda R. Perrie and Lori A. Perrie. Obituaries Business &LORNEA.VODDEN Lome A. Vodden of Hamilton, passed away April 2, 1988 in Hamilton General Hospital in his 76th year. Lome was the youngest son of Thomas and Annie Vodden of Ethel and spent his early years there. In the 1930’s he worked with his brother Harold in Blyth, then went to Hamilton and worked with Canadian Westinghouse office staff for 37 years. As a member of the R.C.A.F. he served in Gander as a wireless operator during the Second World War. He is survived by his sister Mrs. Mae Lake of Clarkewood Estates, Palmerston; two nieces, Mrs. Norman Miller of Listowel and Mrs. Beverley Binning of Gowans- town, and two nephews, Mr. Stuart Cochrane of Atwood and Mr. Brock Vodden of Toronto. He was predeceased by sister Mrs. CameronCochrane(Leila) and two brothers Robert and Harold Vodden. Thefuneralwasheldfrom the Peebles Funeral Home, Atwood with Rev. Ellingham of Atwood United Church officiating. Burial later in the family plot at Ethel Cemetery. RUTH MARION HUPFER Ruth Marion Hupfer of Brussels died at Wingham and District Hospital on April 7, 1988. She was 78 years of age. She was the daughter of the late James Sangster and the former Jane Elliott. She married Archie MacDonald who predeceased her in 1947 and remarried to Vern Hupfer who survives her. Surviv­ ing besides her husband are two daughters, Catharine, Mrs. Mur­ ray Mulvey, RR 1, Clifford and Mary, Mrs. Scott Hunter, RR 5, Chatham; one sister, Jean Barlow, Little Falls, New York; five grand­ children and one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by three sisters. The funeral was held on April 9, 1988 from the Brussels Chapel of the M.L. Watts Funeral Homes with Rev. Carpentier officiating. Interment was in Wroxeter Ceme­ tery. NORA MAY CRELLIN Members of the Wheeler family in the Belgrave area are this week mourning the death of Mrs. Bernard T. P. Crellin of 8 Woodland Place, London, on Saturday, April 2, at London’s Parkwood Hospital. She was in her 69th year and death followed a ten-month illness. A native of Morris Township, Mrs. Crellin was the former Nora May Wheeler, a daughter of the late Cecil Wheeler and Edna Scandrett. She attended SS No. 5, Morris and Wingham High School, later graduating from Westervelt Business College. After her marri­ age to Mr. Crellin in Knox United Church, Belgrave, in September of 1941, she became a resident of London where she worked for many years as a school secretary for the London Board of Education. She retired in 1984. She was a member of Colborne Street United Church. Left to mourn her passing, besides her husband, are one daughter, Mrs. Jim (Catherine) White of Markham; three sons, Michael Crellin of Toronto, Doug­ las and Paul Crellin, both of London and eight grandchildren.
