Phone 887-6645 Chelsey Yost christened in Monkton Surviving safely is 4-H theme The third meeting for the Cranbrook 4H club was held at Yvonne Knight’s on the evening of April 4. Members started the meeting with the 4H pledge and the roll call. They filled in the blanks in their workbook for this meeting. They also discussed their home activi­ ties for the last meeting. Museum sets admissions Continued from page 1 $2.00 (up from $1.50); the student rate of $1.50 ($1.00); the child’s rate, $1.00 (75 cents); the family rate $5.00 ($3.75); and school groups will be 75 cents each. Beginning May 1 the museum will be open 10a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 -4 p.m. on Sundays. After Labour Day the museum will be open 10 a.m. to4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 -4:30p.m. on Sundays but closed on Saturdays. Council authorized the Goderich Horticultural Society to establish a ‘‘Fragrant Garden” designed to give pleasure to sightless people, at the museum. The Society will establish the garden on the south side of the log cabin on the museum grounds and will maintain it with no cost to the museum. In this meeting members also decided on a name which was ‘ ‘The Ranger Rick’s of Cranbrook” and the cover was designed. The theme for this meeting was ‘‘SurvivingSafely” in which mem­ bers discussed safety in the outdoors, first aid, handling an accident, are you lost?, finding the missing person, etc. Workshop featuring Dr. Ian Mackie, London PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED BEFORE APRIL22 Sponsored by Clinton Community Psychiatric Services and Huron County Health Unit Stewart and Madeline Steiss were godparents at the christening of Chelsey Rubena, daughterof Cheryl and Terry Yost, in the Lutheran Church in Monktonon Sunday, April 10. Dinner was served in the church basement for approximately 50 people following the christening. Mr. and Mrs. Murray Crawford hadtheirfamilyhomeon Easter Sunday. Garnet Starr, Chatham, spert the holiday weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Don Cotton. The family of Lloyd and Mrs. Smith were home for Easter. Mrs. Patrick Adams and child­ ren, Manotick, spent several days with her father, Clare Veitch who just returned from a month in Florida. Miss Janet Veitch, Lon­ don, also was home for the holiday weekend. Wl plans theatre outing Mrs. Jack Conley was hostess for the pot luck supper and annual meeting of the Cranbrook Insti­ tute. Mrs. Frank Workman will co-ordinate the reports which were turned in at this meeting. t*lans were discussed for activi­ ties for the coming year. Once again the institute will attend a performance at Blyth Festival Euchre Fourteen tables played at the Forester’s euchre on Friday, April 8 in the Community Centre. Winners were: high, Mildred Gill, KenCrawford; low, Jean Rolof, Harvey Adams; lone hands, Becci Ruppel, John Subject; lucky ta­ bles, Donald Clark, Wilfred Strick­ ler, Agnes Harrow, Annie Engel, Isabel Craig, Beryl Smith, Verna Tunney, Shirley Lynch; tallies, Ross Stephenson, Eluned McNair, Dorothy Cox, Verna Crawford, Keith Turnbull, VernaTunney, Donald Clark, Margery Ritchie, Gordon Murray, Shirley Versteop. The euchre on Friday, April 15 will be hosted by the Hall Board. Waterloo U. hosts FEMSS students F.E. Madill Secondary School students will be among the 155 Ontario high school students who will visit the U niversity of Waterloo Friday (April 15) for a computer science day. In all, 2,300 students from 82 high schools across the province will visit the campus during the month of April. Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Strickler arrived home on Tuesday after spending almost two months in Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Murray Crawford entertained their family on Easter Sunday.
