At the last regular meeting of Londesboro and District Lions, a motion was passed to financially support the Lions Quest - a Drug Awareness Program. This is a program to help put information in the handsof Elementary School Teachers on Drug Awareness. Donations have also been made to the Canadian Paraplegic Asso­ ciation and to the Sunshine Foundation of Canada. New bleachers have been constructed for the Londesboro Ball Park. Recent fund-raising activities have included the men’s euchre, Graham McNee's death mourned Sympathy of the community is extended to the Paul Brunkard family on the death of Mrs. Brunkard’s father and also is extended to the Frank Johnston family on the death of Mrs. Johnston’s uncle, Graham McNee of Mile. Kitty McGregor opened the meeting with a poem. Prayer was given by Marlene Armstrong. Scripture was read by Marlene Armstrong. Lena Nesbitt read the second scripture. Lena Nesbitt read a poem, “The legend of the Dogwood’’. Kitty read a story of accomplishments in helping mental patients in group homes in Nova Scotia. GuestspeakerwasMrs. Barbara Hicks of Clinton who helps run the group home in Clinton. She showed a video about group homes called “Breaking Through’’. She told about the group homes in Clinton and Goderich. The May meeting will be held on Monday, May 16 at 8 p.m. Members of U.C.W. will have the church service on Sunday, May 1.
