hustling to prevent any goals from
being scored against them. Finally

After winning two games in
Warsaw the Blyth Midgets were
ready and eager to finish the
series.
Saturday afternoon saw the local
boys assemble at the arena in eager
anticipation of the game. The
Warsaw team arrived a little late,
but after a quick change both teams
were ready to play.
The Warsaw team came out
strong and fast and after 22
seconds the Warsaw captain beat
the entire Blyth team and scored an
unassisted goal. Blyth tightened
their defence and held the Warsaw
team off time and time again.
Blyth goalie Mike Henry made
many spectacular saves to help his
team stay in the game. At 7:26 in
the first period Larry Hunking
scored a power play goal, with Dan
McDougall and Kriss Snell assist
ing. The first period ended in a
one-all tie.
The second period was filled
with penalties as both teams
resorted to illegal tactics to gain an
edge. Both goalies made excellent
moves in order tokeepthe score
tied. Both teams had a well
deserved rest before play began in
the third period.
The teams settled down and
there were few penalties in the
third. Warsaw came out strong,
but Blyth goalie Mike Henry, along
with the defence, proved too
much for the Warsaw team and
prevented them from scoring.
At 10:38 Kriss Snell sent Larry
Hunking a pass in the high slot area
and Larry one-timed the puck past
the Warsaw goalie. This proved to
be the final scoring play of the
game as Blyth won byaonegoal
