Phone 887-9487 Belgrave people World Day of Prayer held Mr. and Mrs. Richard Moore returned home last week after a trip to Tennessee. U.S.A, and Florida where they visited with relatives. M iss Nancy Moore of London spent the weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Richard Moore. During the second section of the meeting members discussed: What is credit? What credit is available and where? Types of credit? The cost of credit? and Applying for a loan. Members also learned about their credit ratings and some information about credit bureaus. 11 tables at euchre party Eleven tables were in play at the weekly euchre which was held in the W.I. Hall Wednesday, March 2. Winners were: high lady, Mrs. Agnes Gaunt; low lady, Mrs. Edgar Wightman; novelty lady, Mrs. George Carter; lucky draw, Mrs. MargaretRobertson; high man, Robert Grasby; low man, Mrs. Jim (Marj) Coultes (playing as a man); novelty man, Mrs. Gertrude Reavie (playing as a man); lucky draw, Mrs. Ronald Coultes (playing as a man). There will be euchre again, Wednesday, March 9, starting at 8 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Laura Johnston and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Grasby. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Stonehouse visited on Saturday with their sister-in-law Mrs. Norman Stone­ house of London. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Grasby visited last week with Mr. and Mrs. Gary Leitch, Julie and Jeff of Waterdown. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Vincent, Carrie-Anne of Milton, Mrs. Julie Turner of England visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Vincent. The Belgrave Women’s Insti­ tute meeting is slated for Tuesday, March 15at8p.m. in the W.I. Hall with guest speaker, Murray Gaunt, C.K.N.X. farm broad­ caster. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy Murray’s slides and account of his latest trip to Europe. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hanna of Belgrave, Mr. and Mrs. Lome Jamieson, Wingham and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Geiger of Listowel returned home Saturday, March 5 after a trip to Florida and while there they visited with Clarence’s brother and sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Ross Hanna of Auburnvale. Visiting at the home of Mrs. Elizabeth Procter on Saturday, February 27 were Mrs. Howard Zettler, Sherry, Amanda and Alicia of RR 4, Walkerton. Youth share service at Biyth United The girls of Pat Brigham’s and Joan Caldwell’s class shared in the worship service on the third Sunday in Lent in Biyth United Church. Kristy Caldwell, Joanne McNi- chol and Kathy Fraser read the scripture lesson from Matthew 26: 14-16, 47-49, 27: 3-5 telling of the betrayal by Judas - and they presented symbols - 30 silver coins, a purse and a rope. Frances Bearss was the leader for the Junior congregation. Following Rev. Ramirez conversation with the 16 small children he led them in singing “Jesus loves me.” The choir sang “Love was when”. Rev. Mrs. Gordon McBurney opened the meeting with an interesting account of the country of Brazil, its enormous population, vast re­ sources and the terrible depriva­ tion of the women of that country.
