Phone 887-6677 Bryan Finlayson of RR 3, Walton was the winner of the new Honda ATV in the Walton Sports Club’s raffle - at least he said he was. But the winning ticket, marked only “B. Finlayson,” could cause a mix-up in a family where all members have names starting with “B.” The draw was made following Sunday’s Snowmobile Poker Rally, which attracted well over 200 machines. followed by 0 Canada. After a cancellation two weeks ago, they were lucky to have more snow, especially after the storm that blew in Saturday afternoon. Sunday did not look the best before noon but cleared to a sunny and very cold afternoon for those snowmobiles that took to the route thathadbeen staked out. There were 508 hands sold with first prize of $150 going to Paul Middegaal of Clinton; second prize of $75 went to Gwen Hugill, Seaforth; third prize The Walton Area Sports Club Committee would like to thank everyone who helped in any way to make their annual Poker Rally a success. Thanks to the farmers for the use of their land and the businesses and individuals for many door prizes donated. The Committee also appreciates all the support for the Four-wheeler Draw. location of the present W.I. hall. A date of July 22 was set aside with plans for activities to be decided at later meetings. The ideas of a craft and garage sale was brought up, but as yet it is not known if there is muchinterest. MargaretShort­ reed will attend the Grey Variety Concert, Feb. 28 to accept the honor of merit of Community Service, honoring group organiza­ tions. The Institute will provide a of $50 won by Leona McDonald, RR 2, Bly th; fourth prize of $25 won by Monica Ryan, RR 1, Walton. There had been 652 tickets sold on a 4-wheeler when the draw was made at 5 p.m. at the hall with the winner being Brian Finlayson. Second prize, a helmet donated by Lynn Hoy, was won by Paul Clark, Kitchener. Third prize of $25 cash? went to Steve Blake, RR 2, Brussels. Dozens of other prizes, donated by local and surrounding busi­ nesses were drawn for as door prizes. This event’s proceeds will be used for Walton Aea Minor Ball. supper, Aug. 5 for the Blyth Festival.
