Blyth Atoms
lead playoff
series
BY RUSTY BLADES
After being eliminated in the
O.M.H.A. playoffs, the Blyth
Atoms dropped back to play in the
W.O.A.A. playoffs where they are
paired with Zurich.
The first game was played in
Blyth last Wednesday, February
17. The Blyth team played listless
ly through the first half of the game
before Brian McNichol issued a
one-man wake up call in the third
period as he provided the margin of
victory in a 7-4 game.
Zurich built a 3-0 lead early in the
game due to some lethargic play by
the Blyth squad. Blyth cut the lead
to 3-2 late in the second frame as
Brian McNichol recorded his first
goal of the game and Michael
Bromley notched Blyth’s second
goal with assists from Ryan
Chamney and Peter Craig.
Zurich upped the count to 4-2
early in the third before Brian
McNichol put on a heroic shooting
display to steal the victory for
Blyth. This robust Blyth dynamo
scored an astonishing five straight
goals in less than six minutes as his
wicked shot found the top corner of
the net, a spot that the Zurich
goaltender couldn’t seem to cover.
Jerrod Button picked up assists on
two goals while Jonathan Collins
and Henry Bos collected single
assists. Blyth won the opening of
this best three out of five series 7-4
as Brian McNichol saved the day

Wawanosh. Participants drove through heavy wet snow to complete
the route.
DESPITE EVERYTHING YOU H
MAZDA STILL OFFERS THE
BEST WARRANTY IN THE BUSINESS.
Buying a new car these days is a
major investment. That's why it's
so important to shop around for the
best deal and, just as critical, the best
warranty coverage.
As you’ll discover,
there are warranties
and then there are
warranties
Some, for example, offer you 7 years
protection in great big letters, but in
the small type you may find that this
applies only to the powertrain. Some
warranties are transferable to
the next owner when you sell
your car-which obviously
boosts its resale value-others
aren't. Some warranties have
a deductible. Some want you to pay
extra for coverage that others offer
anyway It's all very confusing. But it
can be all so simple, the Mazda Way.
The Mazda Warranty
is a 5 year/100,000 km warranty con
sisting of 5 yeaf/80,Q00 km bumper-
to-bumper coverage, and S.year/
100,000 km. major component cover
age including not only the powertrain,
but also the fuel, cooling, clutch,
steering, suspension, brake systems
and certain electrical components.
The Mazda Warranty is transferable to
subsequent owners, has no deductible,
comes at no extra cost, and covers
every new Mazda car and truck -
including fleet and leased
vehicles. And that's really all
there is to understand The
Mazda Warranty is the Best
Warranty in the Business because it's
the most complete warranty It covers
more of the vehicle and gives better
protection for your investment And
that is the Mazda Way A commitment
to total customer satisfaction
So by all means compare products
and warranties, and be sure to include
a Mazda dealer on your rounds. Only
one thing is more impressive than our
warranty and that's the quality and
sheer driver-excitement that is built
into the 1988 line of Mazda cars
and trucks. Call Bruce, your local Mazda
dealer and see all he has to offer
