Writer praises quick action of Belgrave nurse
THE EDITOR,
A few weeks ago I came upon a
accident by Belgrave, Ont. I
arrived after a young woman, who I
was to discover was a local lady and
thankfully a nurse! This young
woman tookcharge, much to my
relief!
She not only got her blanket but
other items from her car, which by
the way containedhertwo small
children. This wonderful lady
stepped out onto that icy highway
and directed traffic, she sent for
more blankets and said to call the
ambulance again, she had another
woman stop traffic once the
ambulance was coming, she show
ed the ambulance where to pull in,
helped with the stretcher and knew
before I did when and what to tell
the rest of us what to do.
If all this wasn ’t enough she also
took one of the accident victims in
her car to the hospital. When it was
all over I asked another man who
this woman was and he said he too
was awfully glad that Connie
Coutts happened along, that she
lived in Belgrave and was a nurse in
the community.
I’ll never forget how glad I was
that little nurse in her red coat was
there that morning because I didn’t
mind helping, but I sure wouldn’t
have known what to do. I hope by
writing to your local paper she’ll
see this and know how thankful I
and others are that she was there
that morning when we needed her.

they can do.
With the new ruling, the situa
tion now is one of abortion on
demand for any reason whatsoever
with no restrictions. It should be
noted that in Canada abortion can
be done at any time during the nine
months of pregnancy. All of this of
course, is a grave injustice which
we, as members of society, cannot
tolerate because we know from
medical science that the unborn
are human from the moment of
conception.
