Barbara Grube read the best wishes cards and letterswhich the Ethel W.I. had received. Ethel Ethel Wl plans work bee There is a work meeting of Ethel W.I. on Wednesday afternoon at Pat Keffer at 2 p.m. Margaret McMahon introduced Pat Latta of the Robarts School in London where she is the family services consultant. Pat gave a little bit of history on sign language, all the while using sign language as she spoke. She then put everyone to work learning various easy phrases, “Hi,” “how are you?”, “thank you”, “I love you”, etc. plus the alphabet. Pat also explained the use of facial expressions is helpful in sign language. A question period followed her presentation and the ladies noticed that a few finger muscles not normally used were put into action. Pat was thanked for her presenta tion which was enjoyed immensely with a gift of money for the pre-school program’s playground equipment. Margaret Shortreed dressed in valentine red with hearts and Majorie Huether dress ed in funny daffodil yellow were aptly attired to welcome spring and got everyone in the mood with their lively sing-song. Picture taking and the cutting of the anniversary cake finished off the program and everyone enjoyed cake and ice cream served by the Ethel W.I. ladies. Mrs. Percy Stephenson of Ham ilton a former Ethel W.I. member (1929) travelled to Ethel to join in the celebration. Accompanying her was Blanche Dobson of Lis towe1 (1930).
