Mrs. Ross Shiells presided for
the program. She had an
interesting Christmas devotion of
readings, '-scripture verses, carols
and prayer with several members
taking part. Miss Helen Thompson
sang a lovely / solo .with Mrs.
McGillivray at the piano. Mrs.
McLean of Amberler was guest
speaker and gave an inspiring
Christmas/ message. Miss Lorna
Campbell had a Christmas reading.
A surprise visit' from Santa Claus
concluded the program. Miss
Susan Kreutzweiser played Christ-
mas music, and lunch was served.

KINLOUGH NEWS
The. December meeting of the
Kinlough Anglican Church Women
was held on Thursday afternoon at
the home of Mrs., Bert Nicholson
with 18 ladies and 5 children
present.
Miss- May Boyle presided and
extended a welcome to all, and
gave a "A Thought on Christmas"
and prayer after which all joined in
singing "I came upon the midnight
clear"; Mrs. Gerald RhOdy read
the Christmas story from the 2nd
chapter' of St. Luke.. Mrs. Eric '
Thacker gave the meditation on
"Christmas" and all repeated the
Lord's prayer, followed by an
article from the Living Message. A
vote of thanks was tendered Mrs.
Roy Collins, for haiiing the program
planning group, and to Mrs. Del-
bert Hedley for providing the trans-
portation, to all those -who were
responsible for sending the bales,
and a special thanks to. Mr. and
Mrs. Frank Currie for delivering
the St. Monica House bale to
Waterloo, and also to those who
braved the storm 'on December 7th
to take a program to the residents
of Pinecrest Manor, Lucknow.
The roll call was answered with.
"Personal Thoughts of Christmas"
and on Sunday, ' December 19th
following the 10.30 -service the
Christmas Party will be held when
the children will have their
program and carol singing and
receive their gifts and Christmas
treats.
The program 'was divided into
groups and Mrs. Howard Thomp-
son and Mrs. Roy Collins presented
a playette "Getting ready for
Christmas" which 'brought out the
true meaning of Christmas and the
carols "Deck the Halls" and
"Away in a Manger" were sung. A
play, "Christmas Gift Giving" was

David Haldenby and MrS: Ed
Green, who also had a reading
"Faith and Love".
Mrs, John Scott then gave a
reading "My evergreen memory",
telling the story of a poor
immigrant family • who received
kindness from a neighbour, which
gave them a happy Christmas when'
they received a fresh green
Christmas tree. Mrs. Eric Thacker
gave "A Christmas Recipe". Mrs.
Delbert Hedley and May Boyle
added some humour to the
afternoon with a dialogue "The
Proposal". Mrs. Art Haldenby
gave a well prepared paper 'on
"Christmas Thoughts". All joined
in singing "Silent Night".
Mrs. Bert Nicholson /gave a
lovely Christmas reading. Mrs.
Roy Sc.hneller and Mrs. Art
Haldenby each expressed thanks
for get well cards. Mrs. John Scott
thanked Mrs. Nicholson, and all
who had taken part in the program,
and also to Lois Nicholson who had
a gift and candy cane for each of
the children present.
The meeting closed with prayer
remembering the sick and bereav-
ed in our midst. Grace was' sung
and a delicious lunch was served.
The January meeting will be held
at the home of Mrs.. Art Haldenby
on January '13th. It will be a
quilting and the work committee,
Mrs. Bert Nicholson, Mrs. GeOrge
Graham and Mrs. Art' Haldenby
will be in' charges

WHITECHURCH NEWS
Whitechurch C.O.C. held their
December meeting in the Sunday
School room during the church •
service. David Ross gave the call to
worship, The scripture was the
23rd Psalm which was repeated by
all. ICendra Purdon led in prayer. I
and also read the minutes,
The roll call was answered by 8
giving a verse of Christmas. The
offering was received by Linda
Versteeg and the offertory prayer
was given by Brian Ross. David
Ross gave a reading "the Indian
Prayer's.
' The Junior Story given by Mrs.
Archie Plirdon was Dorothy and
John Choose to be Kind. Mrs.
Simpson's stories for the Seniors
were Treasure Your Dreams and
Here Comes the Good News Boat.
The Seniors also enjoyed a Bible

Unit 3 U.C.W.
The December meeting of Unit 3
of Lucknow United Church Women
met ' at, the home 'of' Mrs, Ross
Shiells. There were 17 members
and 1 visitor present.
Mrs. Bert Alton opened the
meeting 'with a Christmas reading,
hymn 47 was sung and the Lord's
prayer repeated. The January
meeting will begin with a visit to
Pinecrest Manor and the meeting
will folloW at Mrs. Kirklan, s
home. Mrs. Wightman gave The
community friendship report and
Mrs. Stuart McGillivray gave a
paper on Christian and Missionary
Education. The offering was taken
and Mrs. Alton led in prayer.
