The Minor Sports 'Ladies • AuxiliarY served 175 Lions members and guests, the program opened with U Canada, 'accompanied by Mrs. Marion Gamble. Rev. JIM Bushell was called upon to ask grace. After Supper, Lion Tail Twister 'Jim MacTavish thanked the ladies for serving the delicious, meal and Mrs. Mary .Culbert for making the attractive centre-piece for the head table. Past president Rod MacDon- ald proposed a toast to the Lions Ladies in appreciation of their, support , in all club projects,„ Mrs. Marj' Hodge replied on behalf of the ladies. Lion president. Bob Fair. called upon the four past presidents. Clavt Nicholson. Allan MCLeati, Bill Kempton and Rod MacDonald and presented each with a plaque. Lion, Frank VanKooten presented Lion Charles Liddle with a past seeretary's pin. Lions. Ladies' pins were presented to new members wives, Mrs. John Langley and Mrs. .Peter Klukack. Lion Harry tolling introduced the guest speaker. Lion Don MacTavish. Lion T)on showed movies and commented on his June trip to the Lions International convention in Hawaii. ISO count- ries were in attendance at the event. Lion Joe Hodgins thanked Lion Don and presented hint with a token of appreciation. The Lucknow and District Leo Club held their regular meeting on December 8 at 7.30 p.m. in the town hall. the business was diScussed and then Milte McDon- agh and Joan Htnilton led the initiation of the new members which went over very well. For the new term the executive stands as follows: president, Wayne Bell; vice president, Mea Peterson; secretary, Karen Camp- bell; treasurer, Ron Johnson; board of directors. Christmas Greetings From „Down Under„ Plan Visit To Lucknow, India Enroute Home New Zealand and for the past six months working and travelling throughout Australia. Now' the homeward trek begins • and will basically consist of • an' overland journey from Darwin, Australia uti through Indonesia, Southeast Asia, Asia Minor and finally Europe, going from Greece up to England, flying home in April, 77. As a' point , of interest to the Lucknow people, we plant to visit the "other" Lucknow in northern - India on the way. Mary Lillian Simpson of Brookside Public 'Scheel was sec and and Elizabeth Black of Lucknow Central in third place, Debbie Austin of St. Joseph's Separate School,' Kingsbridge Was the winner of the Poetry contest with' Judy de Boer and Brenda Phillips of Lucknow Central School in second and third place. There were twenty-two students taking part in this division. First place winners each received $10.00, second and third S8.00 and S7.00 in each class. 'Land of Dreams Come TrUe" was the name of the Christinas Concert put on by the junior classes at Lucknow Central . Public School. The program was held on Friday night before a packed auditorium.
