Wallace Houston, who has been
visiting with his, parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Harvey Houston of Lticknow,
daring the past week returned to
Ottawa last weekend enroute to

Restaurant on Sunday., December

evening was spent. Those present
were from Georgetown, taledon,
London, Barrie, Elmira, Kitchener,

NELLIE YENNING
Miss Nellie Louise Venning,
formerly of Belmont, passed away
at Chateau Gardens, London on
Sunday, December 5th in her 85th
year.
Miss Venning was at, one time
employed at the Lucknow Post
Office for a number, of years.
She is survived by two sisters,
several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was held at
the Needham Memorial Chapel,
London on. Tuesday. December 7,
Interment Will be at Dorchester
Union Cemetery.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Thompson
and Anne of Windsor visited
recently in Lucknow with Miss
Helen Thompson.
The Lucknow Women's Institute
dinner meeting will be held at the
Anglican Hall on Tuesday, Decem-
ber 14th at 12.30. Roll call,
exchange of Christmas recipes.
Please remember sunshine sister.
Mrs. Mamie Pierson and Mr,
and Mrs. Orma Pollock of Kincard-
ine, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Lowry of

This week we are featuring the
one and only 'Barbara Burgess. 'She
was born' in Mount Fomst and
..educated in Toronto. Kingston.
'London and Waterloo. During this
time she're...--eived her B.A.
She lives outside of Ripley and is
married to a. policeman. She haS
two Children. Jennifer b and
Laureen 4. Mrs. Burgess moved to
this area ten yeat$ ago beuse
R.D.S. had an opening in History.
Other . than history, she also
teaches geography, world religions
and law.
Mrs. Burgess has become active-
ly involved as the coach for. the
cheerleaders and is doing a very
good job.
She said.' "Teaching is a- terrific
chafienge and I enjoy it. I would
recommend this profession to
anyone who is. interested in young
people and likes each day to be just
a little. different." •We at R.D.S.
are fortunate to be taught by 'Mrs.
Burgess and we hope she will
continue doing a great job.
TRIP TO LONDON
Levels IV and V students 'from
R.D.S. journeyed with Kincardine
students to London on, Thursday.
November 25. They had a choice of
either visiting the University of
Western Ontario or Fatishawt:
College. Their daystarted off with
a campus , tour followed by lunch.
During the afternoon they had a
choice of attendine classes. talking
tee teacher: or talking to Students
attending that school. It
was a very enjoy-able day for those
that took part.
