A Correction .
And An Apology
In last week's issue' of The
Lucknow Sentinel, there appeared
a classified ad indicating .that
Wayne Lowry, R. 'R. 1 .Kincardirte
would ',not be responsible for any
debts incurred by his wife.
The publishing of this advertise-
ment is a matter of sincere regret
by the publisher. The ad, in
question, was received On the
telephone at The Sentinel from an
individual posing as Mr. Lowry. 'It.
is normal policy, to double check
matters of this type, but in. the
pressUre of meeting a deadline. the
ad was published 'without this
check, in error.
Werds cannot undue the embar-
rassment and difficulties that we
have created for Mr. and Mrs.
Lowry since the paper was publish-
ed last week, but we do hope that
this statement from' the publisher
wilt rectify the error in publishing.
Mr. Lowry did not place the ad In
question. Mr. and Mrs. Lowry,
and the Sentinel, were the victims
of a warped mind, intent on an
attack on the integrity of the
couple.
hi our 23 yeari of involvement
with The Sentinel, we 'have made
many honest mistakes in publish:
ing a paper, as in all businesses,
but none has given us more cause
for despair than • this incident.
Where we have caused hurt to a
family that we have known and
respected fot many years.
Don Thompson,
Publisher,
The Lucknow Sentinel.
