And An Apology In last week's issue' of The Lucknow Sentinel, there appeared a classified ad indicating .that Wayne Lowry, R. 'R. 1 .Kincardirte would ',not be responsible for any debts incurred by his wife. The publishing of this advertise- ment is a matter of sincere regret by the publisher. The ad, in question, was received On the telephone at The Sentinel from an individual posing as Mr. Lowry. 'It. is normal policy, to double check matters of this type, but in. the pressUre of meeting a deadline. the ad was published 'without this check, in error. Werds cannot undue the embar- rassment and difficulties that we have created for Mr. and Mrs. Lowry since the paper was publish- ed last week, but we do hope that this statement from' the publisher wilt rectify the error in publishing. Mr. Lowry did not place the ad In question. L01/ 6 Cape Breton, Islan is to be a very 'popular spot for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts as it is to • be the, scene of an international. camp, July 20 to. August .3, 1977. There are to be '1500 girls taking part in this camping event, with. many countries, as well a Canada, participating. .The girls,, will in tents 'and cook on colernan stoves, purchasing the food 'for each day from a central market: Each Guide and Girl Scout will choose her program for the day, having a wide variety of things to choose from, such as: swimming, Wayne and 'Hugh Todd of St.Helens had a very successful two weeks ,at the 'Royal Winter Fair. They• won the . Freyseng trophy, for the Best Flock of Four Lambs over all breeds. They also won the Champion Pen of Ten Lambs in the Market Class. Other Prizes : were third for Yearling Ram, first and fourih.'for Remembrance Night banquet at the Lucknow 'Legion Hall and sponsored by Lucknow Branch of the Canadian Legion No. 309.„. These Guides have„been chosen to be ambassadors of Guiding for Ram Lamb, second and third for Yearling Ewe, first and second for Ewe Lamb. (Elizabeth) An- derson, a 'Tesident of Pit-wrest Manor Nursing Home in Lucknow, died at Pinecrest on Saturday at the, age of 89 years. The funeral was held, Monday at 2,p.m. at R.A. Cyrrie and Son ' Funeral Home in Wingham.
