minutes however, the boys faded,
and the final score was 8-3.
Next Saturday they go, to
Listowel for a 6.30, game, and back
in Ripley Sunday night at 8.00
against Kincardine.
The Ripley Juveniles started
their 3 game hockey weekend on
Friday night , at home against Port
Elgin, winning this action-packed
game 7-4. Mark Stanley scored
twice, with Robert Regier, Mike
Gallant, Ken MacGillivray, John
Elliott and Scott Regier making
single goals. Tom Kempton and
Mike Pollock led the assists, k with 2 •
each, others, going to Ken MacGil-
livray, John Elliott,. Mike Gallant
and Larry' Farrell. Chris McGarvey
also had two assists in 'this game.
Saturday night the guys journey-
ed to Clinton, where the more
powerful Clinton quad led 8-0 in
the third period before Tom
Kempton fed the puck to Chris
McGarvey for our first tally. Four
minutes later Robert Regier scored
on a pass from Mike Pollock, but
that was all they were allowed.
Clinton scored again twice to make
the final total 10-2. Ripley was a
little short handed, so it was goiid
to have so few penalties, just 4 for
Clinton and 2 for Ripley. There
were the same number on Sunday.
Snowy Lucknow on Sunday
afternoon proved to be a disaster
for Ripley. The long weekend was
catching up. Laity Farrell scored
the opening goal of the game, on a
pass from Chris McGarvey. After
3 Lucknow, goals, Robert Regier
beat the, Lucknow goalie on a shot
from John Elliott, The 2nd period
remained scoreless. In the 3rd

Hockey Results
In the first game of the season
the Bruins defeated the Leags 4 to
2. Steven Prayne with a pair,
Eddie Davidson and Carl Courtney
were the marksmen for the Bruins.
Kevin Lindsay and Ken Van Osch
replied for the Leafs.
In, the second game the Rangers
trimmed the Red Wings 5 to 1.
Richard Jurjeirs had a hat trick for
the Rangers. Michael Austin and
Billy Card added singles. Eric
Haldenby ,was the' lone marksman
for the Red Wings.
In the final game the Canadiens
defeated the Black Hawks 7 to 3,
Jim' Foran led the attack with 3
goals. Paul Foran, Pat Foran,
Bernie Burgsma and Kevin Leddy
added singles for the Canadiens.
Terry Brown, with a „pair, and
David Hawkins replied for the
Black Hawks.

Lucknow Juvenile' hockey team
started their season against Howick,
W suffering the loss of Don Burley
with a btoken leg.' Tom O'Keefe is
also out of the line up with a
separated shoulder. They dropped
a 6.4 decision to Howick with local
marksmen Tom Peterson 1 goal,
Doug Shiell 1 goal, 1 assist; Randy
Alton 1 goal; Kevin Cowan 1 goal;
Rick Howald • .1 assist and Rod
Simpson 1 assist.
However,, Sunday was a different
story when Ripley came, to town
and were defeated 8-3.A complete
line of midgets were brought up to
bolster the Juveniles and showed
up very well scoring as follows:
Tom Peterson 2 goals, 1 assist;
Rick Howald 1 goal; Pat Murray, 1
goal; Mark'Frayne 1 goal, 1 assist;
Kevin Cowan, 1 goal, 1 assist;
Doug Shiell, 1 goal, 2 assists; Rick
Conley, 1 goal, 1 assist. Assists
went to Tom Sinnett 2, Rod
Simpson 1 and Tam Forster 1.

The Lucknow Pee Wees opened!
the season on Tuesday, November
16th in Ripley. The boys played a
good game and barely held the
Ripley boys off. Final score was 3=2
for Lucknow.
Paul Pickard scored at 7.08 of the
first from Don Greer. Ripley came
back in the second and Harold Peet
tied it up.
Lucknow came out strong and
Kent Alton scored at 27 seconds' of
the third period from Dave Gibson
and Mike Whitcroft. Ripley tied it
up from Mervin, Storey at 3.24:
Allan Eadie got the winner with
2.22 left from Brian Taylor.
Atoms Lose 3-2
Ivlildmay Atoms won in an
exhibition game 3-2 over Lucknow
Monday night.
Scoring for "Mildmay were Paul
Kupferschmidt, Paul Schefter and
Robbie Soers, assists going to Tom
Schmalz, Paul Kupferschmidt and
Rob Borth.
Lucknow scorers were Grant
Murray 2, and 1 assist by Todd
Ritchie. Lucknow plays in Ripley

Two Wins For
Midget Team
The Lucknow Midgets won their
first game of the season as they
scored six goals against' Tiverton
before the visiting team counted
One with only 2 seconds remaining
in the game.
Scoring were Steve Hamilton
from Ron Johnion and Pat Murray
in the first period; Toni Sinnett
from Mark jrayne and Jim Van
Osch, and Grant , Gilchrist from
Hamilton and Johnson in the
second. In the third, ,Gilchrist from
Hamilton, Pat Murray unassisted
and Hamilton from Gilchrist and
Johnson. Final score was Lucknow
6, Tiverton 1.
The local boys journeyed to
lastowel on Saturday and came
home with a 5 to 1 victory.
Lucknow marksmen were Eric
Cayley from the point in the first.
