arrangements • of red and white
carnation's, baby's breath, white
ribbons with five white, candles 'in
each arrangement, was the setting
for the marriage of Irene Parker
and William Dickie on Saturday,
October'16 at' 3 p.m.
The bride is a daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Everett Parker of
Teeswatcr. The groom is a son of
Mr. and Mrs. Ira Dickie of R. R. 5
Lucknow.
Rev. Arnold Proud of Teeswater
officiated at 'the double ring
ceremony.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride wore a gown, styled and
made by herself, of white polyester
knit with a sheen of satin,. high
necked Victorian style with long
pearl buttoned sleeves and accent-
ed by *hite, lace on sleeves, yoke,
neck and midriff. The back of the
dress was slightly longer than
front, gilling a train effect. With.
the puffy sleeves and the lace inset
above the bodice forming the yoke

and a detachable midriff section
with ten pearl buttons at the back,
it created a very old-fashioned
effect. The bride's veil, also styled
by herself; fell from a wreath of
white dried baby's breath. She
carried three long stemmed red
Duchess roses surrounded by
baby's breath with white satin , • trailing ribbon.
Matron of honour was the bride's
eldest sister, Mrs. Gary Edwards of
Bramalea. ,
She wore a dark green velvet
jumper with bodice, front, and full
gathered skirt falling from the
bodice with tie belt. Straps and
ruffled cap sleeves accented the
white high-necked cameo blouse
with sleeves billowing ;into tiny
two-inch cuffs. The dress was
hand-made and styled by herself.
She carried two long-stemmed
white roses with baby's breath-and
white trailing ribbon.
Bridesmaids were Mrs. James
Millen of Vancouver, B.C., Misses
Lorrie and Kathy Parker of
Teeswater, all sisters of the bride
and Mrs. Dennis Parker of
Teeswater, sister-in-lavv of the
bride. Their dresses and flowers
were identical to the matron of
honour's.
Flowergirl was three-year-old
Julie Parker of Teeswater, niece of
the bride. She was dressed as a
miniature bride in a white high
necked long-sleeved blouse with
white full length jumper, tie belt,
with bodice front and tiny ruffle cap
sleeves. She , carried a basket of
white and red mini-carnations, held
with a red ribbon. Her headpiece

carnations and red ribbon.
Ringbearei was six-year-old
Greg, Edwards, Bramalea, nephew
of the bride.
Groomsman was Walter Dickie
of Toronto, brother of the groom.
Ushers were Douglas Dickie of
Markdale, Denver Dickie of Goder-
ich, both brothers of the groom,
Ernie Parker of Brussels and. Troy
.Edwards of Bramalea.
The music, with organist Miis
Mary Ellen Havens of , Lucknow,
was "Sunrise, Sunset" as the
prelude, "The Wedding Song" as
the processional and "The Wed-
ding March" as the recessional.
Miss Janet Whitehead of Toron-
to, as soloist, sang "the Wedding
Song" following the ceremony and
"To-day" during the signing of the
register.
A dinner was held in the church
parloiti. Centrepieces for the
tables" were puffs of baby's breath ,
in tiny brown baskets.
A dance followed in Hillcrest
Central School.
The bride's mother chose'a rust
coloured floor-length gown with
long sleeved bolero jacket to match'
with beige, braid trim/ Her corsage
was orange tinted roses with -green
velvet ribbon.
The groom's'mother wore a floral
patterned' gown of fall colours with
long sleeved waist, jacket* to 'match
with accenting frills and tie belt.
Her flowers were identical to the,
bride's mother's.
For travelling the rn bride wore a
long foresegreen, with petite silver'
flowers on the green, key-hole
styled halter dress' with shoulder
capelet and wrist corsage of white
sweetheart roses.
Following a three week wedding ,
trip to, the West Coast, the couple
are residing at R. R. 5 Lucknow,
where the groom farms.
The bride was formerly employ-
ed' as co-ordinator of Big. Sisters in
Hanover.

On Monday, NoveMber 8, the
November meeting of the West
Huron Junior Farmers was held at
Brookside Public School at 8.15
p.m. .As this meeting was the
election of officers " meeting, this
was the 'only business.
. The new slate of officers for 1977
is' president,. Mel Ritchie; vice
president, Jim Pentland; secretary,
.Lise Gunby; treasurer, Susan Irvin; •
press reporter, Mary Ann •Milten-
burg; directors, Linda Hendriks,
Jamie Hackett, Janet Farrish.
The new executive takes office
on January 1, 1977. There will be,
no December meeting, but there
Will be a banquet on December 2 at
Brookside 'Public, School. This is
open to 'the Public and everyone is
welcome. Tickets are $3.00 for the
supper and variety show after and
'are available from most West
Huron Junior Farmers. They also
have 'planned a' carolling ride in
Lucknow and a Christmas Party at
Brookside on December 23'. Club
members. hope to see many , area
people at their banquet.
