REMEMBRANCE DAY
PROGRAM
We had a Remembrance Day
Service on Wednesday, November
10th. Rev. R. Puiman was the
guest minister. Each grade layed a,
wreath and told some Remem-
brance thoughts. A film, "The
Canadians Are Coming" was
viewed.. This film is through the
courtesy of the. Royal Canadian
Legion. -
GRADE 5
In our class each student has
written an essay on "Remem-
brance Day" fora contest. The
best two written in our class will be
entered in /a Legion sponsored
contest. Michele Burnett and
Rowan Walters are the lucky
winners from our class and their
essays will be in a further
competition.
Our class is writing to a school in
St. Kits, West Indies. The name of
the school is 'Sandy Point' junior
d
school. We will also be sending
projects on Canada.
GRADE 1
Birthdays this month were
celebrated by David Hodgins and
Billy Patterson. . •
Stephanie Clelland returned to
our room from Guelph this month
and is now living in Ripley.
We are busy trying' to prepare
our part for the Christmas Concert
which our school is ' having in
December.
Report card time is fast ap-
roaching,' and .we are trying to
complete our first reader thit week.
SOCCER - reporter Gregor Peebles
The soccer championship was
won by the Butts Bulls. Their
names are Captain Gary Rutledge,
Mike Moore, Paul Harris, Gregor
Peebles, Joey Roberts, Paul Keel-
an, Mike Hunter, Mitchell Twolan,
Douglas. Harris, Kent Lowry, Jbhp
Hawrylyshyl, Mike Nicholson,
Marty Guikema, Robin Hodgins.
FLAG FOOTBALL
On November 1, Team 2 won.
The score, was 6-3.
On -Tuesday, November 9th the
1st Lucknow Brownies opened their
meeting with Brownie Ring.. ,
Lori Emmerton was Fairy Queen.
The Brownie story was told by
Packie Kathryn McKim during Pow
Wow.
During work period the Tweenies
worked on brushing and combing
hair, Brownie' Smile and good turn.
The Golden Hand girls worked
on compass.
The meeting closed with Squeeze
and Taps.
Snowmobile Club
Elect Officers
Perhaps it was the snow that
encouraged members to come, out
to the Amberley-Huron Snowmo-
bile Club's general meeting, pot
luck supper and election• of officei's
at Reid's Corner hall on Saturday,
November 13th. Those who, made
an appearance did show that they
were indeed interested in the
welfare of the club.
Those elected this year are as
follows: president, Rick Elliott; vice
president, Bob Barnes; secretary,
Wendy Elliott; treasurer, Dorothy
Coles. Directors for a 2-year term
are: Leroy German, Greg Laroque
and Lynn Thornicroft. Bill Baxter
and Shirley Blewett were elected
for a- - one' year term on the
directors' board. Doug Blewett
(past president) and Bert Emmer-
ton, Brian Astles and Ralph Coles
will remain on the executive for'
another year.
Executive will Meet at the
president's house for the first
meeting of the season later this
week.
We ask anyone wishing to obtain
a membership or offer assistance in
any way' to please notify the
executive.
DUNGANNON
Mrs. Ben Park and Janice spent,
last weekend in' Sarnia with Colleen
and Bill Naylor. Doug Park has
been in Sarnia for the past few
months with his sister ,and brother-
in-law.
Rev. H. G. Dobson spoke on
"Stewardship" at Sunday service
in Dungannon United Church.
Mrs. Carol Reed presided at the
organ. The choir is asked •to meet
after the service next Sunday to
begin preparing Christmas music.
The official board will hold a
meeting on Wednesday, November
24th at 8.30 'p.m. in Dungannon
Church. The Dungatmon U.C.W.
meets on Tuesday, November 16 at
2 p.m. at Pinecrest. Manor Nursing
Home in Lucknow. The minister
will be at a Seminar in Toronto this
week, expecting to " be home on
Friday. In case of emergency, call

Lorne Ivers is ill with pneumonia
in Wingham Hospital.
Mrs. Edna Campbell is in
intensive care in Wingham Hospit-
al since she took a heart attack on
Wednesday night and was taken to
hospital by ambulance.
Mr. and Mrs. Graham McNee
spent.a couple of days last week in
London with Mr. and Mrs. Allan
McNee and boys.
Recent local winners of varying
amounts in Wintario and 50-50
draw are Howard Godfrey, Mrs.
Jean Elliott and Donald Elliott and
Eldon Austin.
