Coming" was shown to , the
gathering and depicted the role of
Canadians in Holland during the
second world war; and 'their
continued recognition by Holland-,
ers until this day.

Garratt commented on his impres-
sions.
The Lucknow Legion branch has
accumulated all five films of this
type over a period of a few years
and have, them in, their ownership
now and available for 'local groups
and schools to view. President
Thompson paid tribute to Irvine

remarks, said that the Legion is
winding down their 50th anniver-
sary and spoke of accomplishments
during this anniversary year. Tulip
sales were well .received locally.

been , completed and enquiries
continue to be , received from local
residents as to how the Legion

Agriculture Minister • Eugene
Whelan is making announcements,
which, he says, will, prevent our
beef market from becoming, an
international dumping- ground.
There is no guarantee that- the
recent announcements will provide
relief for beef producers. Dressed
beef imports are already „up 58
percent from last year. Canada is
still committed to import 17.5
million pounds of beet under
agreements made before, there-
strictions, were announced.. Roy
Atkinson, president of the National
Farmers Union, noted that if there
is now a large quantity of ;beef in
storage, it will continue to keep
prices • down. As any cow calf
operator knows, beef prices have
been down precisely because
Canada is already swamped with
cheap imported beef.
The free market system for
pricing and marketing cattle does
not work. Beef trade is subject to
not only domestic and foreign
government policy, but also the
marketing practices of the national
and international business corn-
