miss Wilhelmine ,Rutherford
celebrated her '89th birthday this
week.- She was honoured by a party
held on Sunday at the home of Mr.
and Mrs, Wayne Todd. Those
attending were Mr. and Mrs. Ray
Laidlaw of Wingham, Mr. and Mrs,
• Gordon Miller of London, Mr. and
Mrs.. Gordon McIntyre of Rich-
mond Hill; Mr. and Mrs. Donald
McIntyre of Willoiidale, Mr. and
Mrs. Hugh Todd, Mrs. Helen
Todd: Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Todd,
and Miss Isobel Miller, all of St.
Helens. Great great nieces and
nephews attending were Jim and
Greg Laidlaw of Wingham, Shelley
McIntyre of Willowdale, and Keith
and Christina Todd of St. Helens.
Following the dinner Gordon
McIntyre showed slides of a very
recent trip to Scotland. He visited
the farms of William Todd (who
immigrated to this area in 1853)
and also farms of the ,McCrOstie-
Rutherford family. Most viewers of
the slides were descendants of
either family or both:

cards. , Don Robinson held the
lady's lucky score card and Lorne
Jamieson held the mens. Lunch
followed the card playing. Next
party will be held November 18 at
8.30 p.m. ,
Get well wishes are sent to Don
Taylor following an accident last
Thursday afternoon• in which his
milk truck was overturned. Don
suffered multiple injuries from the
accident and spent several odaYs in
the Wingham District Hospital'.

Service at St. Helens, Mr, and Mrs.
David Moffat and Mr. and Mrs.
Tom Praselit of Southampton
visited with Laura McNeil. "
WINS "SEVERAL AWARDS
David Mewhinney won several
awards at, the 4-R Beef Club
Achievement Night held in Clinton
on'November 5, 1976. Prizes were
a book of Modern Corn Production
donated by, Cyanamid of Canada
for the Sheep 'Judging Award; a
chest 'donated by Murray Gaunt,
M.P.P.; for top 4-H Beef Show-
manship; and an engraved silver
tray donated, by the Toronto
Dominion Bank, Seaforth Branch,
for champion Showmanship at
Seaforth. David is a member of the
Lucknow 4-H Beef Club.
Mr. and 'Mrs. Gordon McIntyre
of Richmond Hill spent several
days with Miss Isobel Miller, Mrs.
Helen Todd and Miss Wilhelmine
Rutherford.
Mr. and Mrs. Ross" Errington
spent the weekend with Mr. and
Mrs. Norris Wilson 'in Stoney
Creek.
Mr.' and Mrs. Donald •McIntyre
of Willowdale visited-with Mr. and
Mrs. Wayne Todd.

Port Elgin, drop in for a visit
recently.

Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Ritchie are
spending Monday of this week, with
her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Jack
McLean of Wroxeter, who are
holding. a farm sale, Monday
because of ill health.

and Douglas were Sunday supper
guests at the home of his sister
Roberta, Mr. and. Mrs. Lloyd
Whytock and family. The Whyt-'
ocks have moved in to her parents
home in Lucknow from White-
church. Being as Jim Whytock
wouldn't be home for. Christmas as
he works on the boats, his parents
had a' pre-Christmas get-together.
Mr. and Mrs, Allan Ritchie and
Bryce had' her brother, Mr. and
Mrs. Roy Culbert, Duane, Glen and
Nancy of Cambridge, Galt, Satur-
day evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ritchie had
their daughter, Ann, Mr: and Mrs.
Frank Riegling and family of R. R.
7 Lucknow, on Sunday. The
grandparentS had a birthday sup-
per for Todd on his 7th birthday.
Nancy Hunter spent Thursday
after school and,Friday of last week
to celebrate Julie Thompson's 7th
birthday on Friday at her home,
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Thompson of
Donnybrook.

Ashfield will hold their regular
meeting on Wednesday, November
10th at the home of Mrs. Frank
Ritchie at 1.30 p.m. Note the
