HERBERT Returning Officer PAGE FIFTEEN WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 1970 THE LUCKNOW SENTINEL, 1..t/C.K.NOIN,, ONTARIO E- 3, 1976 • PINETREE CRESTENETS By Aubrey Higgins Now that I. have , that "Good Friday" calm out of my syioM; I will try and 'do .something' that I should have done sooner. So if theS, will pardon, my neglect, I Will , try now and, in a small way, to thank the many groupX and even singles (of course they like to be in a group because if there are, any Mistakes it can always be blamed on someone else).. , Seriously, though;' I am referring to the many groups that have given of their time and talent to entertain us here at Pinecrest and' gave of themselves in the fullness of 'song or some musical instrument, also a bit of the dance. All of these things, the way they are presented to us, must take many many hours of concentrated effort. Real hard work on their part! It is one thing sure that we at Pinecrest will never be called on as judges for a contest in any of these fields. But we do appreciate, and down in our hearts thank you even if some very seldom change the expression on their faces. It is not that they do not feel in other parts of their body, what some of us are shouting out of our mouths. I alSo wish to invite any other groups 'or individuals" that feel they should like to• help some handicapped people. There are some sixty of us in ' here and all have different personalities. The same as any shop owner will find on the outside. What pleases one very Much, another .may not pay much attention to. So please try and understand us. If you have a small orchestra, : someone 'who can sing or give a reading or happen to be One or more people Whose feet and legs are on in such a way that they like to perform to music, would you, in the goodness of your heart and in your busy schedule be able to give us some of your time (that's one thing we, have lots of). We would be very appy to have you come. Quite a number of us were in our prime in the thfilieS, forties and fifties period, just a hint). Now to especially -thank those people that have our day marked on the calendar so they never forget to be here' and I heard them. I asked for a request of a certain number, which they did not have but proMised to have it the next time they came.. They did and in the rendering of some of theSe pieces, I don't believe that any professionals could have done better. While, we are not like a group of people who have gathered RIPLEY HURON CENTRAL Reporters: Sheila Osborne and Lori Roberts GRADE 4-5 We are sorry to see Beth Thompson leave. the school. Beth is returning to the United States. MEET THE TEACHER NIGHT On Wednesday, October 20th, there, wp a Meet the Teacher Night. At it there was a meeting about forming a Home and School Association. A Steering Commit- tee 'comprising of . three teachers and five parents was formed. The teachers are Mr. Armstrong, Mrs. Henderson and Miss Farlinger. to hear a, certain type program, we are a varied concentration who are always glad of something that will help us to keep our mind off our own troubles and afflictions. So on behalf of all of us here, I want to thank those who have already helped and to invite any, others. ires,,even come and make it 'a practice session. As for "pay", our "pay office" has been closed for quite some.time and I have never seen any heavy types standing around here hand- ing out fives or tens. But if - you will watch the audience, you will take away with you something that money cannot buy. Peace and God Bless. Respectively submitted by Aubrey Higgins, per P. A. ten Pas.
