and Anglican congregations.,
Rev. H. D. Honsinger led in the
responsive reading of minister and
people and the dedication and he
gave' the message exhorting every-
one to dediCate themselves in the
Lord's work. A church building is a
means and not an end to the great
work that God has placed us here to
do.
The hymn "My Saviour's Love''
and prayer closed the service, and
everyone was cordially invited to
partake of the luncheon prepared
by the ladies of the congregation in
the church hall below.
A most delicious meal was
enjoyed and a time of fellowship,
before returning up to the sanctu-'
ary for the evening service at 7.30
p.m. when another beautiful tw-
ice of worship was enj in
praise and thanksgiving. Spect

studying in .past months.
Mr. Solomon said that the
building on the 'property is like
building eight houses and would
raise the water table 'in an area
already a. bog. •
Mr. Glenn said that he , had ,
available space for parking and
plans for four tanks which would .
satisfactorily handle the sewage
problems for the 8 apartment 27'
by 80' building. • •
Mr.. Joynt maintained that the
apartment building in ,the down-
town core area was designed to be
of better ,service to its tenants' and
'that the town could . not afford to
discourage assessment .of this type
for the municipality. '
Reference was made by Council-
lor Ritchie to opposition from
neighbours in the area, although
there was 'no official opposition
expressed either at the meeting or
by petition.
It 'was pointed out that the lot in
question had been there for many,
many years and that no one had
chosen to use it for a single family
dwelling. '
Mr, Solomon said that ."if we
allow it, we might as well have a
burning ceremony to scrap our
zoning bylaw".
A letter was read to council from
Nick Hill, planning consultant, who
was acting on behalf of Mr. Glenn
in having a parcel of land on Ross
Street, to the south and east of the
Caledonian Park, approved for
development by Mr. Glenn.
Council approved this location
for future development by Mr.
Glenn. Originally classed as open
space, it was approved by council
as an apartment site.
