United. Church on Sunday. Rev.
Albert Cook of ' Trintiy Church,
Ashfield; .was guest speaker and
chose the topic, "The Church is
Salt and light"..: A musical group,
The Sounds of Faith, made the
rafters ring with their beautiful
selections.. They are an inter-
, denoininational group of young
people,from the' Stratford-Kitchen- •
ei area, who displayed a great deal .
of talent in singing and playing
different instruments to contribute
to the service. Lunch and ,a social
time were . enjoyed in the church
basement after the. service.
Welcome to Mr. and Mrs.. Chris
Shelton, formerly of Kinlough and
recently of Ripley, who have moved
into a mobile home next to the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Graham
McNee.
Welcome also to Mr. and Mrs.
Ron Chishohn and child from
Goderich who are' living in the
house wher Ken Ohms used to live
on William Street.
Mr. Wm. Berry returned home a
week or so ago -after spending
about 8 weeks in hospital in.
London.
A Blood Donor Clinic will be held
on Wednesday, November 3 from 2
- 5 p.m. and from 6 - 8 p.m. in
Goderich Collegiate. Please keep
this date in 'mind as blood is
urgently. needed.
Mrs. Graham McNee, Debbie,
'Vella and Mrs. Mary Dere visited
at Huronview on Sunday.
' Sympathy is extended'to Mr. and
Mrs. Chester, Finnigan on the
death of. Ruby's brother-in-law Mr.
Mel' Henry of Amberley, whose
funeral was on Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Len Biloy and
family of Detroit spent the weekend
at their summer home.
On Saturday afternoon the Boys
and Girls Club from the. Christian
Fellowship Church were 'treated to
a hay ride and nature hike.. Peter
• Martin, co-leader of the Boys' club
drove' the tractor' foi the hay ride
and led the way for the hike. Mrs.
Florence Frey, co-leader of, the
Girls' Club, accompanied the girls
, and collected some' nature speci-
mens with which- she prepared a
gorgeous leaf arrangement for
Sunday morning. service. Mean-
while back at ,the Martin home,
Mrs. Elizabeth Martin was making,
popcorn and preparing refresh-
ments for the hungry hikers. After
the • hike , the girls made flower
arrangements for centrepieces for
the dining tables at Lucknow
Nursing Home.
Brotheihood was the theme for
worship service on Sunday morning
at the Christian Fellowship Church.
Student pastor Doug Zehr spoke on
the subject • "Brotherhood - a
transformed people".
Visitors, with Mr. and Mrs. Robt.
Irvin were Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Stirling and family of Thamesville
and Mr. and Mrs. Russell Irvin and
family, 9th concession, Ashfield.
A few Dungannon ladies attend-
ed the Auburn U.C.W. Thankoffer-
ing Meeting on 'Sunday evening..

Girl Guides
The 1st Holyrood Girl Guides '
*visited the Seaforth Ciderfest on
Sunday, October 170. They
watched people making apple
cider, buttermilk and Sausages.
Though the weather was un-
pleasant the, Guides enjoyed an
outdoor rummage sale. They also
had a chance to look over a room
full of antiques.
These girls meet every Wednes-
day night at Holyrood school under
the leadership of Mrs. Jim Young
and Leo Murray.
