A pretty candlelight service was
solemnized in the . Pine River
United Church on Satirday, July 3,
1976, when Joan Marie Henderson
and Lynn Wilfred Hodgins exchan-
ged wedding vows in a double ring
ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Kelvin Henderson of
Kincardine and the groom, is the
son of Mr. and'Mrs. Oscar. Hodgins
of Lucknow. Rev. Douglas
Kaufman , officiated.
Given in marriage by her father
and mother, the bride looked lovely
in' a gown of white polyester sheer
over taffeta trimmed with pearl-
beaded , brocaded lace with full
bishop sleeves. A Victorians
head-dress was also trimmed with
pearls and held a double veil
trimmed with lace. She , carried a
cascade of coral sprayed carnations
and pale pink, roses bedded in
white baby's breath.'
The matron of honour was Mrs.

new clubs, Mount Forest and
Howick. These -clubs were all
„represented at the meeting.
Teeswater and Harriston are with-
out ice so will send skaters to other
clubs.
There will be a coaches clinic in
Mildmay on 'November 7. Regis-
tration for the Lucknow Club will be
held October 23; 2-4 in the
Lucknow Town Hall. Fees will be
the 'same as last year with the
exception of an added $3.00 to go to
Canadian Figure Skating Associa-
tion in Ottawa. Last year they
charged $1.00 per member, this
year they have raised it to $3.00.
Clubs are hoping to get the
pre-schoolers exempt from this.
They • ,have written away for
information.
Professionals for this year are,
• for the Juniors, Miss Pam Craven
of Goderich. She vyill _teach
Mondays 4-7.30. Mark Linton will
teach the seniors on Thursday, 4 -
7.30. •
The club executive hope to see a
good turn out on registration day.
Douglas Porter, .sister of the bride
and the bridesmaids. 'were Miss
Lois Needham of Ripley and Miss
Cathy, Hodgins of London, Ontario,
friends of the bride.
The attendants wore gowns of
plain coral polyester crepe. They
carried white coral sprayed carna-
tions adorned by white hats
trimmed with coral material.
The ringbearer was Scott Cas-
lick, son of Mr, and Mrs.. Brian
Caslick of Kincardine and the
flowergirl was Dianna Hodgins,
youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Chester Hodgins of London. She
also wore a gown identical to the
attendants' gowns and carried a
basket of flowers.
The best man was.Kim Hodgins
of Clinton and Paul Henderson of
Mississauga, Ontario, and Melvin
Hodgins':of London• were ushers.
The groom's ' attendants, wore
beige and brown suits.
Larry Irwin of Ripley was •soloist
and sang 'two pleasink numbers "I
Believe". and "Bless This House"
accompanied by' Mrs. Robert
Harris of Ripley..
The bride's mother received in a
long gown of navy polka dot on
white polyester background with
white stoll and navy. accessories.
The groom's mother received in a
yellow sheer floral coat' over yellow
taffeta with matching accessories.
A reception was ' held at the
Ripley Huron Community Complex
including a buffet luncheon during
the evening,
The happy couple spent an
enjoyable honeymoon in Northern
Ontario at Boyce Lake, where the
groom's aunt and uncle operate a
lodge. They are residing in
Goderich, Ontario, where the,
groom is, employed at Dearborn
Steel Ltd.- •

spent the holiday weekend at their
homes here.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Casler and
Matthew Of Stratford' visited on
Monday with Mr. and Mrs. Jack
'McGuire and family.

area attended the' Teeswater Fall.
Fair on. Saturday.,
Mr: and Mrs. Lorne Wilson of
Dundas called on friends in this
area on Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Oscar White spent
Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Jim,
McNairn and children of Seaforth.
Mr. and Mrs. Ron McGuire and
Christopher visited on Sunday with
Mr. and Mrs, Bill Reeves: and
family of Ripley.

WILL' AM IRVIN
There passed away in. Wingham
and District Hospital on September
30,,William Irvin, born WI MAY '1st,
1892 to the late. Robert Irvin and his,
wife Ann Eliza Hackett.
On September 2nd, 1914 he
married. Mabel Alton who prede,-
ceased him in November 1974. He
was a life-long eesident of Ashfield
Township and a faithful member of
the former Blake's Church of which
he was treasurer for -25 years and a
member of the session for many
years, After the closing of Blake's
Church he was a member of Trinity
United Church until his death.
He is survived by a family of five,
Anna (Mrs. Percy Blundell) of
Goderich; Willa (Mrs. James
Steele) (Curran) of London; Doreen
(Mrs. Eldon Irwin)• of .Sarnia;
Robert' of Dungannon and Russel of
Ashfield Township. He is also
survived by one sister, Mrs. Mary
Naylor of Keswick, 12 grandchild-
ren and 5 great grandchildren. He
was predeceased by one sister,
Pearl, Mrs. Charles Morrison, one
grandson, Jerry Irvin and one
brother Alex in 1918.
The funeral service was conduct-
ed .'by hii minister, Rev. Albert
Cook from the MacKenzie Memor-
ial Chapel, Lucknow on Monday,
October 4 at 2 p.m. Music was
provided by a' friend and neigh-
bour, Howard ,Blake.
He was' carried to his final
resting place at Greenhill Cemetery
by six grandsons, Melvin Blundell,
William Irvin, Dale Irvin, Richard.
Irwin, Bev. G. Curran and Fred
Stirling.
Floral tribues were carried by six
neighbours, Hugh Menary, Cliff
Kilpatrick, Jerry Cranston, Warren
Zinn, Chester Hackett and Alex
Hackett,
Guides Invite
More Members
The first meeting of the Lucknow
Girl Guides was held on September
30. The patrols were organized.
There are two patrols, the Robins
and the Canaries. Nancy Thomp-,
son is the patrol leader for the
Canaries and Marion Raynard is
the patrol leader for the Robins.
The girls discussed what time the
meetings are to be held. It was
decided from 7.00 p.m. to 8.30
p.m. Activities for' the coming
guide year were, also discussed and
planned.

The secondmeetitig on October
7th opened with a Kim's Game.
After inspection, dues were collect-
ed and the girls formed horseshoe.
In patrol corners they practised the
clove hitch and sheet bend knots
for flag raising ceremony. Captain
Sue Bellmore worked with the
guides on' the conservation badge
and Lieut. Diane Morrison worked
with the tenderfoot on the Guide
promise. The Robin Patrol had
campfire. The meeting dosed with
vespers, and taps. Any girl
between the ages of 10 and 14 are •
most welcoMe.
