An outdoor setting was -the scene
for the double-ring • ceremony at
which . Donna Elaine Ritchie and
Gary William Thompson were
united in marriage • on July 17th,
1976. The wedding took place on
an acreage near-Red Deer,. Alberta,
where the couple are-now residing.
Rev. A. M. McNeil of Gaetz United
Church performed the double-ring
ceremony. The bride is-the eldest
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey
Ritchie, R. 3 Lucknow, and the
• groom is the only son of Mr. and
'Mrs. Frank Thompson, Red Deer,
Alberta.
The bride was given in marriage
by her parents. She chose a cotton
eyelet gown featuring a square
neckline, tie-back, and circular
skirt ruffle. The dress was
trimmed with white antique lace.
Her headdress, a picture hat, was
trimmed with, eyelet and a veil with
yellow daisies was secured at the
back. She carried a bouquet of
white and yellow daisies backed by
lemon leaves.
Maid of honour was the bride's
sister, Elva Ritchie of Wingham.
She wore a green cotton gown in
gingham that featured a frontal,
white, full-length aproned effect,
scooped neckline, tie-back and skirt •
ruffle. She wore a rhite'picture hat
trimmed with green lace and yellow
and white daisies. Her bouquet
was a basket of white daisies
highlighted by yellow baby's
breathe and yellow ribbon.
Groomsman was Blain 'Becker of
Sylvan Lake, Alberta. The ushers
were the brothers of the bride,
Bryan and Mel Ritchie of Lucknow.

The wedding reception and
dinner were held at Juniper Lodge,

daisy floral arrangements adorned
the tables.••
The bride's mother wore a
sleeveless gown with a jacket in a
floral pattern of coral, rust and
peach shades. She• wore a corsage
of roses and carnations in yellow,
coral and rust colours.
The groom's mother chose a
sleeveless gown with a jacket in a
blue and beige floral pattern. She •
wore a corsage of white daisies and
pink• roses.
Guests were present from Ontar-
io, British Columbia and different
points in Alberta. Rod Anderson of
Red Deer was master of ceremon-
ies and Mrs. ' Jean Papernick,
Goderich gave the toast to the
bride.. Telegrams were, received
from the bride's aunts and uncles
and, university friends residing in
Ontario.
The couple honeymooned in
Kelowna, B.C. They are residing
at R. R. 2.Red Deer, Alberta.

West, Red Peer.
Previous to her marriage, Donna
was feted at', a shower given by
Mrs. Donn# Simpson in Red Deer,
which her mother, sister and aunt
attended.
