On Monday of this week, Ripley
Intermediates defeated Moorefield
4-3 to take the lead in the best 2 out
of 3 series for the W.O.A.A.
chanipionship. Del Stanley went
the distance on the mound and
drove in Ripley's first run 'to help
his own cause.
Elliott Courtney and Larryirwin
each had 2 hits while John Rudder,
Eric -,MacLeod and Al Hunter had
to their credit.' Elliott
crossed the home platetwice and
made just a super catch in centre
field in the 6th inning to prevent
Moorefield from scoring.
The 2nd game was held Tuesday
night.
Ripley Eliminate
Bel or Team
On Friday evening; September
24 the Ripley intermediates travel-
led to Belmore and returned 'home
victorious as they defeated Bel-
more 12-6, thus winning the series
in 2 straight games.
Elliott Courtney and Del Stanley
shared the pitching duties With'Eric
McLeod calling the signals. Eric
had a good night at the plate with 4
RBI's to his credit, while Larry
Irwin also had 3 rugs batted in.
Jack MacDonald and John Madder
both played well offensively and
defensively as did Elliott Courtney,
in his familiar lead-off position in
the batting order.
Pony Club Now

Godson, chairman, of the Western
Ontario Region and David Godson,
Pony 'Club • inspector,. , both, from
Caledon, Ontario.
Altogether, 23 Fiuron-Bruce
Pony, Club members from Goder..,'
ich, Clinton, Teeswat,er, Lucknow,
-Ripley and Kincardine, were tested
and given an official grading.
AfterWards, the Pony Club
members, . their parents and
guests, enjoyed a lovely luncheon
put up by the mothers.'
The new Huron-Bruce Pony
Club, which 'now 'has '29 members,
has now met all the requirements
and will be given recognized status
at the next VVestern Ontario Region
District Commissioners . meeting,
September 23.

Dalton Schultz is now rapidly
recovering and Mrs. Dawson Craig
is also making rapid progress to
recovery, both patients' in Wing-
ham Hospital. •
Last Tuesday Mr. and Mrs. .Don
Clark of Sudbury visited with Mr.
and Mrs. Carl McClenaghan.

to Bruce County Ploughing Match
with a Charolais, bull to be on
exhibition throughout the match
from Tuesday to Saturday.

of Kimberley Rintoul Of Tottenham

from hospital. •
