reserve champion herd. Mrs. Bolt
also of .the Langside area received
first prize for 3 young kids born this
year.. Ross Cayley reCeived first
prize' for his 2 yr. old filly and their
son 'Robert received second prize
for his pony in harness for,ages 15
and under. The Cayley family also
received prizes for geese, ducks
and cats.
Mr. and Mrs. • Ken • Scott of
London spent the weekend with his
LANGSIDE
Mr. and Mrs, Elmer Scott
returned Tuesday from a motor trip
to. Northern Qntario. They went up,
the Trans • Canada Highway to,
North Bay and Kaptiskaging, then
to Sault Ste, Marie. While there
they went on the ;Algoma Central
Railway tour through Agawa Can-
yon. The train left, at 7 a.m., and
returned at 5. p.m. The scenery up
there was beautiful as due to a "dry
summer the leaves had all turned
fall colours. They came across the
ferry from South Bay Mouth' to .
Tobermory and from there they
motored home. Their were away
for six days and reported a very
pleasant trip.
Helen Weirsma is enrolled in the
R.N.A. training course in Wing-
ham Hospital which started on
September 15 and is staying with
her parents Mr. and Mrs. Wally
Weirsma.
Miss. Margaret Moffdt visited
with Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Young
last Wednesday.
Simone de Boer of Guelph and
Barbara Morris of Chatham spent
the weekend with his mother Mrs.
Ruly , de Boer and family.
Special music at Langside
Church on Sunday Was a duet by
Nancy de Boer and John Koobs
with John also playing his guitar.
Several families from this district
attended the Lucknow Fall Fair on
Saturday. The weather was perfect
and a large crowd attended.,/, Mrs.
Ross Cayley of this area showed a
herd of .17 goats at the fair. She

The Kairshea Women's Institute
held the .September 16th meeting
at the home of the president, Mrs.
Cliff Roulstori. The vice president,
Mrs. Evan Keith, conducted the
meeting.
After the openintexercises Mrs.
Lloyd MacDougall, secretary-treas-
urer read the correspondence. The
scripture, 23rd Psalm, was read by
Mrs. Gib Hamilton. The roll call
was answered by your favourite .

pondence and business was dealt
with as follows. Members are
reminded to have ticket money, on
quilt to the treasurer by the next
meeting, October 28th as the
winning ticket will be , drawn the
evening of the "At Home",

At Bruce County Plowing Match
September 30th Mrs. Lloyd Mac-
Dougall and Mrs. Ted Collyer are

Underwood October 21, 9.30 a.m.

for the Arthritis Society.
A humorous reading "A Middle
Age Drop Out", written by Keith
Roulston, was read by Mrs. Gib
Hamilton. '
An interesting travelogue was
given by Mrs. Jack Needham.
Blanche told of the experiences she
and Jack had touring Brazil and
Switzerland the past winter. She
said Brazil has beautiful scenery
but very hot. Switzerland, their
motto is perfection an food very
expensive. Mrs. Bill Haldenby
conducted a contest.

Sinclair Of London, formerly the
Conlon 'farm.
Several ftom this district attend:
ed the Open House at the Pinecrest
Manor, Lucknow, on Sunday after-
noon. The weather was fine and
there was a good attendance.
Note change of October meeting:

p.m. Hostess Mrs. Clarence
Ritchie. Mrs. Gib Hamilton' gave
courtesies, followed by the singing
of 0 Canada and Institute Grace.
Lunch was served by the hostess
