from Seafoith, :Clinton, Goderich
and Lucknovv, was divided into two
divisions according to standings. at
the end of regular season play.

On Sunday night, the Ripley
' Intermediates defeated Belmore,
6-5 to take the first gaMe in the
best 2 out of 3 WOAA semi-final
series. •
. Elliott Courtney went the dist-
ance on the mound with Eric
MacLeod calling the signals. 'Key
hits by Eric MacLeod, Andy
Burgess, Jack MacDonald, Larry
Irwin and. Al Hunter resulted in
Ripley's runs.. Blair Armstrong
contributed a home run in the 7th
inning to the delight of a large
home town crowd.
The next game is scheduled fnr
Tuesday night in Belmore _with the
3rd game back in Aipley Friday
night (if necessary).

On Saturday, September 18, all
eight teams were' presented with
individual crests at Vanastra Recre-
ation Centre where the league
dance was held. Donna Sue Er-
rington, captain and Eric Taylor
coach accepted the team trophy,
while individual trophies were
presented to the team members.
The Lucknow Ladies team con-
sisted ' of Sherry Boak, Janice

Lounowicz, Donna Errington, Rose

MacDonald, Sue Ritchie, Bonnie'
Taylor,' Janet MacPherson and
Connie Stevenson. •
Ripley Eliminated
In 0.A.S.A. -
Semi-Final Series
'On NiVednesday night of last
week the Ripley Intermediates
travelled - to Union (near Port
Stanley) for the second 'game in
their • 0.A.S.A. series and were
defeated 6-3 by .a strong Union
squad. Elliott Courtney started on
the mound and had a no-hitter
going when he 'required relief in
the 6th. The Ripley team was
leading 2-0 till the 6th inning when
the roof Caved in and Union 'scored
all 6 of their runs. Eli scored 2 runs
for Ripley while John Fludder
stored the 3rd run.
The Ripley team is now. eliminat-
ed from O.A.S.A.. play but are to 'be
congratulated for reaching the Semi
finals in All Ontario Intermediate D,
playdowns. The team is still in
WOAA playoffs and meet Belmore
in the semi-final series for. the
Western Ontario Chatppionship.
The LucknoW' Ladies Softball
.season came.to a roaring finish on
"September 13, as they defeated the
Goderich Sailorettes 'to win the B
division of the Huron Central
