Nancy. de Boer has accepted a' pasition at the Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home in Lucknow. We are pleased to report that Mrs. Jerry VanderKlippe has returned home from Victoria Hosp- ital; London and is feeling• much better. A well was drilled last week on the farm of Dave Bridle due to a • water -shortage there: The' house has been rented by Mr. and Mrs. Peteriet and family; formerly of Holyrood, who area now residing there. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Broome 'of Bluevale visited with Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Young on Friday - , after- noon. Mrs. Bertha Stokes of Ingersoll and Mri. Ethel Holmes of Wing- ham visited with Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Young on Sunday. Joinne,Bongertman of Lucknow spent two days last week at the hoine of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert 13ongertman. Bill Errington, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Errington, is starting a course in-,Agriculture Business at Centralia. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Spry, Niagara Falls, New York, visited with Mrs. Lorne Ivers for a few days and called on Mr. Ivers in PinecresV Manor. ° Syinpathy is extended to Mr. and Mrs. Howard Culbert and family on the death of Mrs. Culbert's father, Robert Lyons Sr. . Mr. and Mrs. Jack Curran, 9th concession and several of their family attended a gathering of descendants of the late Bert and Amelia (Hackett) Treleaven at Plattsville •Community Park hear the home of Mr. and Mrs. {Lou Parker (nee Gwen Treleaven). There were about 60 present and it was decided to make, it an annual affair. ' The next• -day' Mrs. Curran received word that Glen 'Parker, 18-year-old •son of Mr. and Mrs. Lou Parker 'had been seriously injured in a car accident. He was unconscious for four days, his right leg was broken in three places and he may be hospitalized for some months. In the W.I. report the business part of the meeting included an invitation to Tiger-Dunlop branch for their meeting on October 28, W.I. Rally is to' be held at Dashwood' Monday, October 4 at 9.30 a.m. with our voting , delegate being Mrs. Elmer Black and Mrs. Harry Girvin. All are welcome to attend; Huronview Auxiliary meet- ing is. September 20, and their bazaar October 26. Mr: and Mrs. Don Treleaven of Lindsay Were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Curran on Thursday and all visited\ other relatives in the area. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Kilpatrick. of • Goderich visited Mrs. Cecil Blake on •Thursday afternoon. On Saturday afternoon• a-miscel- .— laneous 'shower was given by her relatives for Miss Nancy Kirkland of Zion, an October bride-to-be, at the home of Mrs. Cecil Blake. The presentation of gifts followed a program of music, contests and readings. Nancy thanked those present and invited them to see her trousseau. A delicious lunch. was served. FURTHER SURGERY. Wm. Irvin has undergone a second leg amputation as a result of circulation problems. Panel Discussion on Education. The leader was Mrs. Walter VVillets, and panelists Mrs. John Eadie, Mrs. George Underwood and Mrs. Bert Garniss'. Around 17 members of the Bel Mac choir __trained by Mrs. M. Douglas gave several entertaining numbers. Mr. and Mrs.. Harry Jewitt of Sarnia were Sunday evening callers on' Mr. and Mrs. Victor Emerson. Charmer's, Presbyterian Church pot luck picnic is being held Sunday, September 19th following church service. Bring your favourite dish and dinner will be at the church. Gerry and David Bere and 1John Young were in a car accident near Otterville Saturday morning when Gerry drove over the brow of a hill and could not .avoid hitting ":a vehicle stopped in the roadway. David has a. sprained ankle and Gerry lost a front tooth. The Sunday morning service at the. ChriStian Fellowship Church was well attended to hear the message, "Jesus Was a Carpent- er", delivered by student pastor Doug Zehr.
