THOMSON -- in loving memory
of a dear husband, father • and •
grandfather, Donald Thomson,
who passed away one' year ago,
September 19, 1975.
A heart of gold stopped beating,
Hard working hands at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove,
He only takes the best,
The leaves and flowera may wilt,
The golden sun 'may set,
But the hearts who loved-you

Are the ones who won't forget.
Lovingly remembered and sad-
ly missed by wife Agnes and

FARM REPORT
-Bruce Connty 4-H Judging Com-
petition was held Friday, Septemb-
er 3, at the Hanover Fair Grounds,
with a total of 84 participants.
The 4-H girls and boys: in three
groups, Novice, Intermediate and
Senior; did judging on nine
separate, classes, including live-
stock, crops and weeds.
The classes •were scored on, a
point system and after these points
were tallied, the first prize high
aggregate, a wrist watch, was won
by Bryan Jacklin.
Douglas • Jacklin, high novice
judge, won the C.N.E. Shield.
High intermediate judge-
trophy, was won by Kathy Fischer.
High senior judge-trophy was won
by Bryan Jacklin and high beef
judge-trophy, was also won by
Bryan Jaqklin. This was a new
trophy which was donated 'by the.
Bruce County Cattlemen's Associa-
tion.
Other winners were novice:
Debbie Pope and Janet Dietrich;
intermediate, Mark Hamel and
Ellen Stark; and senior Ken Fischer
and Jane Gross.
This was a very gratifying day
and thanks to all for participating.
RANDY WILLICK,
Extension Assistant.
BEEF, CHANGES
Some beef farmers are talking
numerous, changes in their beef
production systems. Some are not
going to feed grain. As long as the
increased gain pays for the grain,
then grain should be fed to get the
maximum production of beef from
your facility. There are no cheap
feeds anymore so if you slow the
cattle up, you waste forage just
keeping them alive for extra days
and also lose with added interest
costs.
Arranging for more than one
.marketing period is probably , the
best change for many people.
