In Prince Edward Island, the
government has decided that .all
milk producers /need. to be legislat-
ed into ,a Dairy Producers' Associa-
tion and has passed legislation to
make sure that this happens. .
All milk producers must pay
dues to the association. At the
national level, the association shill
annually appoint a director to the
Dairy Farmers . of Canada. The
president of the Dairy Farmers of
Canada, James McCague, made a
statement that the 1976-77 dairy
policy "meets the fundamental'
requirements of national policy for
industrial 'milk as we believe they
should be and are seen by the
federal government And by indUs-
trial milk producers".
In P.E.I. this was not even a case
of majority expression of farm
opinion determined by a plebiscite,
