Treat Injures
At Hospital.
Mrs. Georgia Mitchell, R. R. 1
Ripley, was. parked on the shoulder
of the road August 23 when, a
passing tar had a lire. blow out^
striking the Mitchell vehicle, on
'Highway #9, seven miles east of
Kincardine. Mrs. Mitchell was
admitted to Wingharn Hospital
with contusions of nose and spine.
Investigated by Kincardine Q.P.P.
Robin Charles, Wro'xeter, struck
a steel post 'at the railway crossing
on Highway #86, about one and one ,
half mile west of Gorrie. He was
treated for a lacerated hand and
released. Investigated by J. Hicks.
Miss Carol Pollard, R. R. 4.
• Ripley, was a passenger in an east
bound car on Highway #86
travelling towards. Listowel August
28 when their vehicle was 'struck by
a south bound car on County Road
#12. She was, treated for a
laceration on hex lip and a fraCtured

Thomas 4owes, Ethel'', was
.driver of the south boUnd car which
struck the east bound car at the
corner of Highway #86 and County .
Road #12. He was treated for an
abrasion to his forehead and
released.
Russell Crozier, Ether, was a
passenger in the Bowes vehicle
which was involved in the accident.
He was admitted to hospital for .
observation with lacerations and.
abrasion. '
Miss Tracey Guy, Ethel, was also
a passenger in the south bound
vehicle. She was' admitted 'to
hospital with abrasions for observa-
tion. Investigated 'by K. A.
Murray.
James Darling, R. R. 1 Clifford,
was driver of a car. which left the
road on a curve and hit' a tree
•
stump, on the B Line about 1 1/4
miles past of Wingham on August
28. He was treated for abrasions
and held overnight for observation.
Ronald McGee, 342 Centre
Street, Wingham, was a passenger
in;, the •Darling vehicle :involved in
the accident- He was, admitted to
hoSpital with abrasions and brills • -

was also a passenger in the Darling
car. He was treated for abrasions
and also held overnight for
observation.

' The regular meeting of St.
Helens Women's Institute was held
in the hall on August Sth with Mrs.
Peter Chandler presiding.. .
The meeting opened with the
Opening Ode followed by the Mary
Stewart Collect in unison. The roll
call, "Something in our home we
recycle" • was answered by 21
members. The secretary treasurer
and assistant secretary gave their
reports.
The Institute bus trip to Oshawa
is on August .26th. Plans were
made for the Lucknow Fall Fair
display.
Mrs. Harold Cooper presided for
the program. We had,a sing song
"The Old Spinning Wheel" and
.!!Its a Long Way .to Tipperary".
The motto, "Feed the family what
they require, not what they desire"
was prepared and given by Mrs.
Harold Cooper. A reading, "The
Joy of Getting Home" was given by
' Mrs. Harold Gaunt.
The topic 0 on "Family ' and
Consumer Affairs" was prepared
and given by Mri. James Curran.
A reading, 'Picnic Memories"
was read by Mrs. Robert Aitchison..
Mrs. Fred . McQuillin, gave the
recent "Current Events". A
reading of Gregory Clark's, "The
Bang" was read by Mrs. Ernest
Gaunt.
The meeting • -alOsed with 0
Canada and the Institute Grace. A
delicious lunch was served by Mrs.
Harold CoOper and Mrs. Ernest
Snowden.
