WHITECHURCH NEWS- On Wednesday, August 18 at 2 p.m. VVhitechurc_h Women's Mis- sionary Society met at the home of Mrs. Don Ross. The call to worship was given by leader Mrs. Victor Emerson. The scripture reading and meditation were given, by Mrs. Wesley Tiffin. Prayer was given by Mrs. Wm. Rintoul. Hymns were sung with Mrs. Andrew, Gaunt at the piano; . The topic was given by Mr. Bev Kay, who told of the work of the' Women's Missionary Society. it is .hoped some day the Society will have the menalso working and will be able to increase the givings. He told of the Young People's work, C.O.C. and of Knox College.. The important thing for the congrega- tion is to be alert to bring the word' of God to all departments Of the church and note what your church• is doing. Mr. Kay was thanked by Mrs. Emerson following which she told the story "Just One More Favour". The first vice president, 'Mrs. Don Ross, presided in'the absence of the president Mrs. John de Boer for the hilliness. The minutes were read by the. secretary, Mrs. Gordon .Rintoul and the roll call answered by 14 naming a fruit of the Bible. The financial statement was given for treasurer' Mrs. Milligan, by Mrs. Emerson. The collection was received and "dedicated by Mrs. Andrew Gaunt. A, quilt top presented to the society was sold to Mrs. Earl Caslick, The next meeting' of September will be held at the home of Mrs. Bill Rintoul. Following the singing of a hymn, Mrs. Bill Purdon closed the meeting with prayer. The Laifies' Aid meeting was held with the collection received and closed repeating the mizpah benediction. Grace was sung and the hostess, Mrs. Ross, served lunch. Courtesy remarks were given by ,Mrs. Wm. Purdon. Church To Hold Sunday Breakfast Lucknow United Church is "kick- ing-off" the new season with ..a Sunday School Breakfast, for par- ents and children served in the Church basement from 9:45 a.m. September 12. Plans for the year will be outlined. Opportunity to meet the teachers will be provided. The Sunday School is especially concerned about meeting potential United Church people and children who may be new to Lucknow and wish to be introduced to this United Church family. Such are most welcome to breakfast. Kingsbridge C.W.L. - The August meeting of the Kingsbridge Catholic Women's League was well attended in ,the Church Hall. Mrs. Marion Austin "welcomed the ladies and' Fr. Dentinger led in ,prayer.
