LILA IRWIN
Lila., Irwin passed away at
Pinecrests Manor 'Nursing Home,
Lucknow; on Thursday', August 5th
in her .77th year.
She was born in Ashfield
TOWnship on September 5th, 1899, •
a daughter of William John Irwin
and Amelia Henry. •
Lila, a victim of arthritis for forty
years, spent the past twenty-two'
years in nursing homes. She first
mitered the ' nursing home in
Lticknow shortly after it was
established by Ed Baker, later
owned by Harold Greer and then by
George Newbold. Two years ago,
April 1974, Lila' was one of the first
residents to be settled in her new
home at the new Pinecrest Manor
Nursing Home on Bob Street. ,
The late Miss Irwin is survived
by one sister and two brothers,
Mrs. Glen (Winnifred) Campbell of
Ashfield Township, Frank... f West
Wawaposh and Jack of Goderich:
She was predeceased by her
father in 1908, her mother in 1942;'
two brothers, Roy in 1976, HarrY in
1975 and two infant brothers.
The funeral' service was held at
MacKenzie • Memorial Chapel,
Lucknow on Saturday, August 7th.
Grant Gollan 'of LucknoW was
minister.
Pallbearers were Bill 'Stewart,
Bill Campbell, Irwin Campbell,
"Murray Campbell, Jack Irwin,
Orland Irwin.
Interment 'was in
Cemetery.

Mr and Mrs. Ewart Taylor of
Regina spent a few days last week
with' his sister, Mr. and^ Mrs.
Graham Moffat of Teeswater.
They left Friday for Ottawa where
Ewart was a contestant in a lawn
bowling tournament for senior'
citizens. Ewart Taylor spent his
boyhood at Langside and will be
remembered by some of the •older
residents. •
Mr. and Mrs., Wesley Young
attended open house at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Helm on the
10th of Kincardine following . the
wedding of his mother, Mrs.
Marjorie Helm and Mr. Robert
Rouse of Edmonton on August 9th.
Marjorie is a sister of .Mrs. Young.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs.
Ken Scott who were married. in
Ripley on Saturday with a reception
being held that evening in the
Ripley Community Hall.
' Mr. and Mrs. DaAe Moffat
attended the, Moffat picnic held last
Sunday. in • Kincardine.. They
reported a. good attendance, al-
though ,the weather was qool.

spent a few days last week at a
cottage near Port Elgin with their
son Mr. and Mrs. Robert Young,
'Beth and' Jane of Chesley and
Sandra and Greg • Gardner of
Lucknow.
Liane Young spent last week
with Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Martin
and family in /London and Karen
spent• the week with Mr. and Mrs.
Don Wall and Krista of Culross.
Bill Pinnell of Colborne spent
last week visiting 'cousins in thig
district'. He spent a few days at the
hOmes of Wesley and Clifford ,

Whitechurch and Gordon Wall of
Wingham.,
NEPHEW KILLED
Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Young
received word on Sunday, of the
death of their nephew,, Keith
Broonie ,of Mitchell, whO was
critically injured in a car-truck
accident ^Friday evening. Keith
was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim
Broome of Bluevale and • was
married and had two small
children. S) nipattly is extended to
the relatives.
