Mrs. Chester Hackett led in prayer, ` and Mrs. Ken . Alton introduced • and, topic for the devotions . "Stumbling •Blocks or Stepping Stones". Hymn, Fight the Good Fight was sung, followed; by Psalm.27 being read responsive- ly. Mrs. Charles Wilkins read a short poem andalso the scripture from 1 John. Mrs Ken Alton then led in prayer---.and----gave -the meditation. The devotions closed with the singing of . Faith of our Fathers: ' Some articles were donated for the Craft. Festival. 'It was decided that members on the north side of -the 10th were to take their baking in on Friday • and the . ones. on the south side an Saturday, if this was convenient. Mrs. Donald Hackett handed out two. contests which were thought provoking. Mrs.. John Hunter gave a reading;"Tim'e To ' Pray". • It was decided to have the meetings in the winter months start • at 1.30, the summer at 2.00. 'Following the business part of the meeting, hymn "Faith of Our Fathers was; sung and , the. meeting closed with allrepeating the mizpah benediction. Games' were played, starting- off with ' running races and winners for the day were as. follows: 'Peter Lyle, Jenny Davey, Bradley Lyle, Kimmy Bann, 'Ef c Birkhaug; Jean Ann Simpson, . Mary . Lillian Simpson, Duncan- Simpson, Larry Mills, David Rose, Doug Agnew, Jim Simpson and John Huston: The winners of the balloon throwing contest were Duncan and Steve Simpson. In .the women's shoe kicking ' contest winners were Mary Barbara Estev- es and Allison Rose.. In the men's shoe kicking contest the winners were Steve and Ron Simpson. The youngest baby to attend the MacDonald . reunion was Joan Eileen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Ferguson (nee Margie Simp- son). The entertainment program con- sisted of -singing, Scottish dancing, and most important of all the music of the bagpipes provided by D. A. MacLennan and David MacDonald; piano . •music by Lillian ' Simpson, fiddle music by Finlay MacDonald and the great singing voices of Bob Birkhaug, Flora • Simpson, Rev. Sand and John Simpson; Scottish' dancing by Kathy Simpson, Heath- er .and Nancy MacDonald. The evening. ended in: the joining of. hands and' the singing of Auld Lang Syne. • We hope . to see everyone; attend again next year. ST -.HELENS A large gathering attended the auction sale at the farm of Bruce Wills. The wills 'Were successful in selling their farm machinery, livestock and some antique furni- ture. Despite the threat 'drain, the day was most successful. Recent visitors 'with' Mr.. and Mrs. Andrew Gaunt were Mr. and Mrs., Ward Shickluna from Missis- sauga, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Dawson, Davina and Deanna from Corunna, (near Sarnia), Mr. and Mrs. Earl Sherwood of Carlow, and Mr. and Mrs. Murray Gaunt; Stephen and Stephanie of Wing ham.
